NRN == No Reply Necessary [updated to reflect feedback]
Want to make your super busy friends love you even more?
I am still a small fish in this all, but I am busy as all get out. Now, compare my free-time to some of the people who's acquaintance I would like to make. My free time is infinite compared to some of the people who run things around here. Then consider, that the people I think of as big fish, they look at people bigger than them, who probably have less free time.
We are all buuuuuuuuuuusy.
So, why not make it a trend?
NRN == No Response Necessary.
That way, when you try to share something cool with a busy friend, they do not feel obligated to respond, unless you need a reply.
So, I've gotten a bit of feedback on this idea. One person said that making this a "thing" might turn it into a sort of spam tool. "dude, it's cool, I said NRN"... which is not the idea at all. The whole point of this is about having respect for the time of the people you interact with.
Mostly the answer is, I try not to bug busy people, and I try not to get offended if they don't respond to me.
The reason I wrote this post, was because a friend of mine said he has a hard time not replying to people, and feels rude if he doesn't. Typically my communication with busy people is brief and infrequent. Hell... I'm too busy to be chatting all day, myself.
So, anyways, maybe this tool isn't for everybody.... but if you have a friend that you seem to get caught up in each replying to each other over and over, while you both mean to go... try nrn
or you could just be me, and post.

as a general rule
lol
LOL this would be like sending me a roll of duct tape for my fingers. Most busy people already decide who they will or won't respond to. The only thing I would consider this useful for is a party invite that already has a string of secret-meaning codes anyway.
Totally cool idea 😊lol NRN

NRN - need right now -to get some time of, LOL!
Seriously speaking, this is really becoming a problem that is affect our health in the long run, so No Response Necessary is important!
yeah... what helps for me is that I focus on different things for a few days at a time. sometimes active in chat, sometimes active commenting and curating, sometimes (a lot of times hopefully) I'm busy writing all day. I can't turn off discord, however, because there are people who need to contact me \ vise verse
This should be a great meme
Hello there,
I'm confused, I should reply to this announcement now if i like the idea... shouldn't I? OwO
Anyway, I'm an asshole, so I don't feel obligated, no matter what. In two minutes I'll forget everything when I'm busy. lol
One thing is for sure, you always have some creative ideas, @inquiringtimes!
love ya, buddy!

Great idea to not disturb the others.
Interesting concept, however it kind of reminds me of *DNO in an email title, which most people did not understand.
what does DNO mean?
and yes, you have to explain nrn the first time, hence this post
Do Not Open. It was/is used for simple time saving communication.
Example: Will be late for the 2pm meeting. *DNO
The above would be in the email title, all the info is said right there, the receiver did not need to waste time opening a blank email. This was supposed to be common knowledge in offices. Inevitably the email gets opened and the receiver is confused, even if they'd been told about it. But if they were told about it but didn't see it for a time and had forgotten by the time they saw it, they'd be curious to know what DNO meant lol.
Obviously there are people who did get it and use it. I was simply reminded of it when I read your post. Very similar and potentially beneficial concept.
I learned nrn from a very busy, and a VERY successful person
Whoa, I feel I may have offended you and that was not my intent. I am not trying to say it won't/doesn't work, was just sharing experience with something similar. Apologies if you are offended.
I am not a scary guy, I promise
hahaha, no worries, I'm not either ;)
not at all, good sir. we are clear :-) I was just letting you know that part
