Steem Engine v2: Pending Withdrawals

in #steem-engine4 years ago

In case you missed it, I put out a post covering all of the new and exciting changes coming in Steem Engine DEX 2.0 and you can find it here. As we lead up to the release, I wanted to share a small but significant new feature in the DEX.

As many of you know, when you perform a withdrawal from the DEX sometimes it is not instant. This is a security feature to prevent any unforeseen security issues causing users to lose their funds. Sometimes a withdraw request can take a couple of days as it is held.

The problem with the waiting (despite there being a disclaimer on the withdraw modal that it can take upwards of 48 hours) is you have no visibility. If you are withdrawing a significant amount of Steem or any other token, it might make you anxious that you can't see the withdrawal is pending. You see the custom JSON on the blockchain, but that is about it.

This all leads to people posting in the Discord asking if their withdrawals went through okay and when they can expect to receive them. If you are withdrawing a few thousand Steem, the anxiety is understandable.

While no exact timeframe for when your transaction will be processed can be provided, if you are ever concerned about your large withdrawal you will see a new tab in the wallet screen called, "Pending Withdrawals" which show whether or not you have any pending.
