Making friends on Steemit.

I have to admit that its quite tricky to connect with people here in Steemit with the existing interface and notification system, and maybe also because im still trying to get the hang of it.

Few weeks ago when i just joined steemit, i shared some links to my steemit blog in my other social media platform and have attracted enquiries from my followers and friends but particularly theres one i can never forgotten. That was when i had engaged to a total stranger at that time, and made my first new friend here in Steemit with Christie; @madpotters. Coincidently she was one of my followers on instagram who have just also started her steemit account.

First conversation that have got me a friend here.

Ive got to know Christie @madpotters and her works better here with a more detailed explanation and shown processes of her works. She have amazing works on her DIY pot making and garden decoration such this post that shows engaging process of her works.

Putting meanings into an artwork.

One day she showed some appreciation towards one of my artwork and at that time i felt like i just wanted to take a break from work and paint something random, but to paint something 'random' have always caught me to be in an art block state because i always believe that 'art' always need meanings and significance to exist. Without it, a 'painting' can never be called an 'artwork'.

So i offered a spontaneous act by offering to do a sketch of something really close to her as a random gift. :)

And so she sent me a photo of her backyard, her working space;

I started to work on a simple watercolour sketch. :)

....voila! :D

Now i believe that this drawing have becoming more significant through the depth of its appreciation, more than just meets the eye. A good artworks for me usually are those that have the power to touch the hearts of the audience, and triggered emotional attachment, just like how those great artists long before us were honoured and remembered until this very day; their whole lifespan, their hardship, personality and history were the big factors of their success.

Start to sincerely do good for others today regardless u know them or not. Hold the doors behind you for them, tip your local baristas, feed the homeless, adopt a child, etc. You'll definitely feels a dash of a true happiness feeling when u have done such gesture trust me. Happy trying! :D
