Portrait Sketch #1 - Neelofa

Hey guys! How's your new year going? I'm gonna starts this year to start drawing portrait backs. I hope this gonna be my daily habit to hone my skill and to show to you guys. So for my first portrait is I'm gonna draw Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor better known as Neelofa. She is a Malaysian actress, television presenter, a commercial model and an entrepreneur.

Process :

I start doing this portrait on Monday because I have free time in the evening. So i start scribble around to have the base and proper proportion. I start by doing the eyes first and then move to nose, mouth and the hijab. As the time flies, I have been drawing 2 hours straight and nearly forgot about Maghrib prayers. So i stop there and intend to continue in the next day. Below is the progress I can finish.

The next day I continue this piece at the classroom while waiting lecturer to start the class. I start to make her mouth and starts to shade around using parallel line. I only use cross hatching technique below the chin because i show to my friends different type of technique to shade. I'm gonna use this technique in the next works. So below is the end result. :)
