What are the positive impacts that steem-bounty can bring? (SBI giveaway)
I have recently used @steem-bounty twice and I did develop some thoughts about it.
I would like to take this opportunity to excite the community since there are so many @steembasicincome contests as well as giveaway happening.
I will be choosing two comments where each of the commenters will be given 1 share of @steembasicincome.
The giveaway will be based solely on my decision and selection.

Hey @fun2learn, I got to know about @steem-bounty through your post and I think it is a very good initiative.
The STEEM curator incentive system is largely inefficient. One way you can recognize a good article is through upvoting. But the curation reward is very minimal if there are not enough subsequent votes. Another way to recognize an author's effort is by leaving a well-written comment. But in order to get rewards for your comment, you need to get others to vote for you. As you can see, the STEEM system leaves curation reward (through commenting) to the hands of others who have no time nor interest to read your comment. And that is probably the reason why STEEM is so author-centric, which leads to many trashy posts.
@steem-bounty switches the equation by giving the author the power, and thus responsibility, to reward the best comment. It is in the interest of the author to receive and read good comments. Therefore, it is natural for authors to be able to reward comments directly. There are many people who do not like to write new articles, however, they love to leave comments. These people benefits the STEEM ecosystem and should be rewarded too. If adopted widely, @steem-bounty will be able to change the entire STEEM ecosystem from the current author-centric state, to a more balanced state. I personally think that @steem-bounty reward system should be built into the STEEM reward system natively.
This is definitely an excellent comment with a lot of thoughts in it. I am quite sure if the creator of @steem-bounty, @knircky, gets to see your wonderful comment, he would be pleased as you were able to highlight advantages of using @steem-bounty. @steem-bounty wants to redo their introductory with a bounty reward of 30 steem. Thanks! Will write a more detailed post on @steem-bounty when possible. To be frank, I have not tried out the service. Perhaps the best time to try it will be on my post on @steem-bounty 😄.

It will be a great way to attract people to a post. So if you have something important to say, this will help.
On the other hand, I am not too optimistic about its use. The system seems to rely on voting power among other things. We already see the voting system being abused. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this system is not going to be about quality comments, in the end, just about who can generate the highest voting impact.

Well the main benefit I see from steembounty is more user engagement. Often times, especially in this bear market when steem prices are low, you can't even get a reply to a post or comment.
But with steembounty it seems that people try to post more meaningful comments so they can reap the bounty. Of course, you should comment even without the bounty, but unfortunately this is the only way currently to have more user activity.
I agree that it does promote more comments for articles because of the reward behind it.

What is a bounty exactly?
A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.
You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.
How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.
