Vote Exchange Club

in #steem-bounty6 years ago

Just like any club, there are benefits and drawbacks of the Steem Bounty Vote Club If you don't know what @steem-bounty is you should definitely take a look, it's where you can reward commenters with a little more than a typical upvote. Sometimes you wish to conserve voting power, other times your vote may not be much of an incentive-putting a lucrative bounty on your post will definitely help attract some attention.

The vote exchange club is self-explanatory, you exchange votes with other members automatically. You can choose at what level to set the exchange at i.e. exchange votes when your voting power is greater than x, I have it set at 94%. @knircky is the creator of vote club, these are his words:

The vote club lets members upvote each other and thus get income from your SteemPower without needing to delegate it. You can find out more and also signup here: https://steem-bounty.com/services/vote-club

It's a great way to increase your reputation and get some valuable upvotes. Of course, it's related to your strength and relatively fair, it takes into consideration your SP when exchanging votes and doesn't necessarily exchange a 100% vote. There are two drawbacks: 1. Every 10 votes, they take one for Steembounty so it isn't free. 2. There isn't much of a blacklist or whitelist so you could support some blogger who isn't very good or downright offensive.

Vote exchange is another option for those who like to automate their account. You can sell your votes and purchase upvotes, or you can exchange them with vote club. @knircky is a great Steemian and a solid developer. I look forward to watching this progress and I hope the plan is to make a blacklist and whitelist soon.

Vote clubs are dangerous. You never know what kinds of perverts weirdos and psychopaths you are supporting.

One day you are going to trade votes with someone that you regret.

Imagine you write an inspired post. You wish to share it.

Or perhaps your loved one had a great achievement and you write a poem of appriciation.

Wonderful stuff. Now you trade votes with a someone who is writing about how he likes to wear his mothers dresses and hang out in the park giving lollipops to children while quoting scriptures and spreading conspiracy theories to them. Nothing wrong with that. It is the current year right?

Hi @abitcoinskeptic

Excellent comment. And naturally you have such a good point.

One day you are going to trade votes with someone that you regret.

You nailed it here.

Dear @crypticat

It does make sense but at the same time wouldn't it be easier to simply upvote our own content, instead of exchanging votes? At the end of the day will result be any different?

It's a great way to increase your reputation

Most of us have very little voting power and so far I believe that the best way to grow reputation is by buying upvotes on steembottracker. Wouldn't you agree?

Interesting read buddy. enjoy your weekend
Piotr

Thank you for your opinion. They definetely have to make a whitelist so it becomes more like an automatic curation community where you're not afraid of Upvoting anyone who is generally unagreeable. Buying/selling votes often comes with a commission greater than 10% and often results in a return less than inflation. For this I recommend Smartsteem.

Thanks for more info on this @crypticat as I only briefly heard about it and was wondering how it worked.

Your welcome, it's definitely an easy way to get upvotes, especially for those who aren't as active
