Hey, I am pretty sure that it's not possible to add a profile picture yet. I think that feature is still in the works. If you want to add images to your posts, you first need to upload the image to a site like steemimg.com or somewhere else and then copy the html embed link into your post. If you lookup an intro to markdown that will probably have more details.
