I would have to say the general strategy is to post good content frequently and consistently. If you had a lot of spare money as in enormous amounts, a good way to get noticed is just to vote for yourself when posting a new blog entry. You would land on trending pages immediately since the Steemit trending algorithm seems to be mainly based on the total voting value of the post though this seems to only work well for people who have Steem Power in excess of around 100,000.
