Padawan Learner (Volume Two): What Lightsaber Colors Mean In The Star Wars Universe

Welcome to the latest edition of Padawan Learner! Today we are learning about lightsaber colors.

What lightsaber colors mean in Star Wars

This is my second volume of the padawan learner series. If you have not seen my first post please check it out using the padawanlearner tag. Please vote for your favorite jedi and I will be doing a post on next saturday about the winning type of jedi.

Jedi Guardian (blue)Jedi guardians were the more combative type of Jedi. They were usually more skilled in lightsaber combat than consulars but this did not always have to be the case. For example, Yoda was better than almost all jedi guardians in lightsaber combat.

Jedi guardians were often seen on the front lines of combat. Jedi guardians usually utilized a blue hued lightsaber, but this does not always have to be the case. Mace Windu was a jedi guardian who famously wielded a purple lightsaber.

Jedi guardians focused more on combative aspects of the force but that does not mean that they did not ignore the rest of the force's attributes. The guardians spent hours upon hours honing their combat skills.

The guardians also had different paths they could take. The Jedi aces were Jedi that specialized fighter combat. The jedi lightsaber instructors helped train the next generation of jedi. The exotic weapons specialist used weapons other than the standard lightsaber. They could strengthen weapons such as a staff so it was resistant to lightsabers through the use of the force.

Some notable Jedi guardians are Obi-wan-kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu.

Jedi consular (green)Jedi consulars spent most of their time learning about the force. They tried to avoid war at all costs. They did not draw their lightsabers unless it was truly necessary. The consulars were very good diplomats and ambassadors and they represented the jedi order often as such.

Many Jedi consulars were also very skilled healers and were talented in medical sciences. Consulars were still pretty efficient with a lightsaber even though they spent more time on honing different talents. They were scholars and they studied a lot. The Jedi consulars also spent time meditating on important matters like the sith. The consulars usually carried a green lightsaber as a symbol of peace. They would only use it if they were forced to partake in combat.

The most powerful jedi were usually either Jedi guardians with very strong force powers or Jedi consulars with terrific lightsaber skills. Two examples of this are Kit Fisto and Yoda.

The seers were a branch of the consulars who would meditate even more than usual and they would try to foretell the future. Jedi Ambassadors and Jedi Diplomats helped negotiate conflicts and represented the Jedi in political atmospheres. The consulars that were very talented in force healing usually chose to become Jedi healers. The Jedi sages were extremely powerful with the force and used it to perform attacks against an enemy.

Notable Consulars are Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn.

Jedi Sentinel (yellow)
The Jedi Sentinels were a mix between the Jedi guardian and the Jedi Sentinal. They were kind of the jack of all trades of jedi. They were trained with most lightsabers and the force almost equally.

They usually spend their training time on all different skills. They trained in computer skills, demolitions and stealth as well as many other useful skills. The Jedi sentinels almost always used a yellow bladed lightsaber. Sentinels were very skilled in infiltration techniques and stealth. The Sentinels were all of the same rank and each chose his or her own specializations. They all did unique jobs for the order. Some were Jedi Temple Guards. They were the Jedi Temple's own security force.

Some chose to become the Jedi recruiters and recruited potential Jedi. Others chose to become Jedi shadows. They were highly respected and extremely secretive. Jedi Shadows tried to destroy any aspects of the dark side or any potential Sith. Jedi Investigators were Jedi Sentinels that tried to find the criminals behind the crimes.

Some notable sentinels are Bastilla Shan, and Quinlan Vos.
