WHY WE NEED MORE STEEMIT AMBASSADORS

So going through the steemit white paper today, i realized most of us haven't been doing enough not just for steemit but for the people around us who surf all kind of social media platforms everyday but experience no change in their lives.

Steem is a blockchain database that supports community building and social interaction
with cryptocurrency rewards. Steem combines concepts from social media with lessons
learned from building cryptocurrencies and their communities. An important key to
inspiring participation in any community, currency or free market economy is a fair
accounting system that consistently reflects each person's contribution. Steem is the first
cryptocurrency that attempts to accurately and transparently reward an unbounded
number of individuals who make subjective contributions to its commundone.

For me, steemit makes me feel I'm in a relationship. Like i always say, a relationship is a two way thing like a rope involving two parties and for it to be successful, each party must hold on to their end. Steemit makes me feel this way for playing its part by constantly rewarding me for my efforts while i play mine by adding value and helping the community grow, both imparting greatly into each other. Something no social media platform has ever done.

Collectively, user-generated content has created billions of dollars worth of value for the shareholders of
social media companies, such as Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter. In 2014, Reddit hypothesized that its
platform would be improved if everyone who contributed to reddit.com by posting stories, internet.comments or voting were rewarded with a fair share in Reddit, Inc . Steem aims to support social
media and online communities by returning much of its value to the people who provide valuable
contributions by rewarding them with cryptocurrency, and through this process create a currency that is
able to reach a broad market, including people who have yet to participate in any cryptocurrency
economy.

These social media companies have made billions of dollars through the collective support of their users and these users gets nothing from all these. If you are from the part of the world where i am, Nigeria precisely, you understand the high cost of data bundle used to surf the internet, we pay for these things and also considering the low wages been paid to workers who toil day and night to make ends meet.

This brings me to my case been raised here: WHY WE NEED MORE STEEMIT AMBASSADORS

If @samstickkz had not talked to me about steemit last year, i might not have been here drafting the post telling you about this. I might not be here contributing to the steemit community and more importantly, i might have be looking for a way to raise money for my data subscription, pay my bills and other up keep.

Look around you, so many people find it hard to cope with the high cost of living in a very bad economy but they have phones and PC. As long as they can use these gadgets, they are potential catalysts to the growth of steem and steemit.

I'm not mistaken if i should say this;

"Steemit can generate income enough for that person not to drop out of school"

"Steemit can generate income enough for that person's hospital bill"

and so much more. We need to extend a hand of support by teaching and bringing people into the steemit community to gain financial independence. We need to promote steem and steemit more than we are now.

After reading this post from a great steemit ambassador, I feel motivated to follow in his footsteps.
