1. EARN STEEM FROM YOUR STEEM POWER ORGANICALLY
You can accumulate more STEEM by vesting your STEEM currency in a process known as powering up. You can do this by opening a Steem account and then powering up from your Wallet. Vested STEEM is called Steem Power.
Today, 1 May 2019, is Steem Power Up Day organised by @streetstyle. I have joined the initiative by powering up more STEEM currency and now I am getting even closer to a goal of 10,000 STEEM.
Holding Steem Power (SP) is like HODLing, but here on the Steem Blockchain, it is withdrawn evenly, over a 13-week period.
If you hold even the smallest amount of Steem Power, you enjoy the benefit of fast and feeless transactions.
Steem Power is brilliant it gives you the ability to reward content whether that be:
- posts about community projects you support
- community engagement you want to reward
- customer engagement and activity that you wish to incentivise
- art, videos, photos or music that you appreciate
- or just about any form of activity you can think about rewarding or incentivising.
Steem Power holders can distribute currency without losing any of their own stake, by way of upvotes, this is made possible by the constant mining of new currency. Users have the potential to distribute the equivalent of ten 100% upvotes per day – this upvote value fluctuates with the price of Steem and [you can do the live calculation of what each vote is worth yourself by clicking here
Every time you reward others, you earn small amounts of STEEM in return for upvoting content (known as curation rewards).
So as a result of both curation rewards and a small amount of interest (inflation) on the Steem Power, an investor is actually growing their STEEM holding with sometimes little or no effort.
How cool is that!

2. USE YOUR STEEM POWER TO POWER PROJECTS WHICH ADD VALUE TO THE BLOCKCHAIN
If you have a large holding of Steem Power, you can actually make a difference with your stake/influence on projects. These projects and DApps will ultimately add value to the chain and could in turn lead to an improved currency valuation.
If you have some spare time, skills or resources, and you want to get more involved, there are loads of projects that will welcome contributions to help them scale.

ORACLE-D – @oracle-d help onboard businesses who want to capitalise upon the use of blockchain technology and the vibrant Steem community website.
STEEMMONSTERS - @steemmonsters is a decentralized, digital collectible trading card game built on the Steem blockchain website.
As you can see, there is some innovative and exciting applications of blockchain technology and that is just the beginning!!
