Powering up on SPUD6
I’ve been saving a fair bit of liquid steem for a few weeks, ready to power-up for today...
Yep, it’s the 6th SPUD (Steem Power Up Day) event; a day where the community works together to lock in their investment to the platform in a act of solidarity.
The concept was thought up by @streetstyle. I think it captures the essence of what this place is about; 1/ being fundementally about tokens and investment, 2/ being community.
Today I’ve powered up a slightly odd sounding number of 3,609 STEEM.
The reason being that 3,609 plus my current sp (6391) equals.. 10,000 STEEM power.
I’m a sucker for nicely rounded numbers so that’s why I wanted to use SPUD to help reach my milestone and ambition of 10k :)
I have no idea how the future of STEEM will pan out. I’ve invested enough of my own to be watchful on the price and the general health of the platform, but not enough to be in any danger of it ruining my life in any way if it drops to 1 cent. Or 0.
It’s not really about the money, it’s something more.
This place that I’ve only been involved with for under 2 years has truly changed my outlook on community, technology and the future.
I’ve learned an incredible amount about this blockchain space; without even particularly wanting to know when starting out nearly 2 years ago!
It’s been an effortless and interesting journey so far.
I guess I’m here for the long haul.

Great milestone there Ash. You see it’s been effortless - but you’ve put a tonne of work into your videos and the Blockchain is better off as a result! Good luck for the future holding/ hodling!

Nice! Thats awesome. I powered up a bit of steem a few days ago as well. It was only a modest 50 steem compared to your 3000 lol. But every bit helps I think. It will take me a while to get to 10k but I plan to one day. Im just going to keep on chugging away.
That’s the thing man, keep chugging away and you’ll get there.
I only did such a huge buy and power up because it was the right time, and a pal helped me buy for very little fees; so it saved me a lot to do one big one over lots of small ones.
