Splinterlands Card Review Untamed Fire Melee

I am starting my review of the Untamed Fire cards. I will do the melee cards and then the ranged cards with the summoner. One thing to note about the team is no new magic cards. Still there are some nice adds to the team. I hope that you like these reviews. I enjoy going over the cards and sharing my thoughts. Please let me know what you think about the cards or the game. Koblod Bruser is a solid common card. At three cost and with up to seven life with four attack he is great for the cost. At least when it comes to just being a melee fighter. His abilities are his weakness. Knockout is very powerful when it works but you need another card to land a stun first. He has middle of the road speed so there is a good chance you might be able to stun the monster before he attacks. He will see the most play in little league and any format that lets him attack from the back row. He won't win you games but is a card that you will play sometimes.

Serpentine Spy should get a bit more play. Opportunity is a fun skill. If it wasn't for that chicken it would be better. This is another low-cost card at three that can also have four attack. If you max the card out he also will have poison and that is a nice add on. His high speed is great for how he will attack. His lower HP isn't as big of an issue as you can hide him in the back row and he shouldn't go hunting mobs with thorns as they tend to have high hp. He should be a nice card to hunt down healers and other low hp monsters. This can be an issue as sometimes those guys are weak and there to just take hits. Other times he will be star hunting down important cards.

Magma Troll is the third common melee they team got in this set. The nice part about that is it will give you a lot of options for different cards to play in different formats. The bad part is they are all common. This card isn't bad and has reach and affliction. With all the healers in the game that makes him a nice card to add in a lot of games. For four cost this guy isn't as strong till he gets that third attack at level eight and you might want to go to level nine for the hp and then well max him out to get the best numbers. It is just hard to see playing a for cost with two attack very much. This card is nice as it gives new players a card with reach. Yet it isn't as good as Giant Roc and so I don't see it getting a lot of play. But it could be a nice one to use in little league.

Living Lava is the only rare melee monster for the team in this set. He really seems like a card for reverse speed games. The team really needed that. I am not sure if he will make it worth using the red team or not in the format. Rust is a nice skill if you know the other team is going to have armor. Thorns are always nice to have on a tank with the shield ability. He is more usable in the new no magic format that is coming. As with shield, four armor, eight life, and thorns he is going to be very bothersome to kill. He also hits pretty hard. He will be a great tank in melee madness or last spot in super sneak. He is also usable if you know your facing armor. So this is a card worth having if you play fire.

Magnor is a cool addition to the team. The melee team got a melee legendary. He is really meant for higher mana games as he is a ten cost. He has Taunt that can be used a lot of ways to protect some other weaker monsters. With trampled, Enrage, and return fire he is in a good spot to do a lot of damage. If his big fist hit kills he attacks again and then if ranged hit him he hits back. Once hurt he hits harder and taunt makes you hit him. His speed is good as you wante enrage on before his first attack. Even 13 life at level one is a lot but 15 at level three is really high. You will have to have this guy at level three at least for him to be really good. I think a lot of players of fire will want to use this card.

Overall I like these sets of cards for the team. A lot of them will work well with the old summoners. They will give them a lot more options to compete in all the formats. Magnor stands out to me but he is legendary. After that, the rest have good uses but don't stand out. The next set have some new cards I feel do a lot so see you in the new review.

I think fire splinter is going to become a strong ranged splinter. We now have 4 cards with blast!! I think I'll focus on those to start, it should be fun playing blast-mode!

I really like that opportunity skill. really handy at times

It will be interesting as they keep adding new cards to the game what they're going to do to keep them unique.

Skills seems like the way they're heading, but that seems like it's going to get more and more complicated to come up with more and more skils.
