Jose Mourinho's tactics make Manchester United players confused
The Manchester United players are reportedly confused by the tactics chosen by Jose Mourinho during a 0-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the third week of the 2018-2019 Premier League.
That defeat made Mourinho get extra pressure. Moreover, this start became United's worst start in 26 years in the Premier League stage
Mourinho himself made a big surprise in the match. He uses a three-defender formation behind, which is 3-5-1-1.
In the previous two matches, Mourinho did not use the scheme. He uses the 4-3-3 scheme.
He also gave a surprise in the selection of players. He paired Chris Smalling and Phil Jones together with Ander Herrera.
Then Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw were installed as right and left wing backs. Then Jesse Lingard was placed just behind Romelu Lukaku.
The tactic turned out to make United players feel confused. This news was exhaled by the Daily Star.
Not only that, they are also called feeling confused with instructions given by Mourinho. They also called into question the decision of the Portuguese manager who decided to make a lot of substitutions at the same time in the players' line up.
Prior to this, Manchester United players were said to have believed that Mourinho would soon pull out of Old Trafford, especially if he lost this weekend against Burnley at Turf Moor.
