Sprtshub.io is a platform connected to the Steem Blockchain which allows users to post sports news articles. This platform was created to fill a void on the Steem blockchain, given that, there has never been a dedicated platform for sports contributions.

Just like Utopian curates open source developments and related articles, SteemSTEm curates STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) articles and SteemHunt curates technology products, sprtshub.io has been developed solely for sports articles on different sports.

Joining

Steemit users who want to join the platform can simply sign up using their Steemit username, private posting key, email, and password. Once that is done, they can now begin posting sports articles via the platform.
After several months of development and testing, Sprtshub was unveiled on the 27th of May 2018 and so far has onboarded no less than 300 users of the platform. It also has moderated and curated more than 1000 posts out of which 700 were accepted and 300 were rejected due to plagiarism issues.

Development Update

Several updates have been made on this platform since its inception.

SteemConnect Login

When we first started out, users had to sign up as described above and then login with only their emails and passwords. However, to make things easier, we have now added the SteemConnect login just above the previous login tab.
Click on the button provided and you will be redirected to the SteemConnect log in page and make sure you are on the Steemconnect website.

Edit and Delete Buttons.

When sprtshub started out, users only posted, while we approved or rejected any posts found to be plagiarized without giving users the option to edit them. Now, we have added the Edit and Delete buttons below every post awaiting approval or rejected so that users can edit their posts if there are mistakes or if they have been rejected for plagiarism or even delete them as the case may be.

Referral Links

As a new platform, we need to grow our community and bring users on board. Thus, we have provided every of our current users with referral links on their account. Once they share it and users sign up through it, they get our special tokens called Sprtscoins.

Posting Guidelines

To give users an idea of what we accept and what we do not so that they don’t run afoul of the law, we have added posting Rules and Guidelines. The link is visible on the left hand side of your screen.

New Scoring System

The past few days have seen us introduce a new scoring system to help us determine which posts worth more and should get the highest upvotes from us. For now, we use number of words in your post as our basis for upvoting your posts.
Our decision is based on the ranking below:
Articles equals to or greater than 150 words >> $2 upvote.
Articles within 100-149 words >> $1 upvote.
Articles within 50-99 words >> $0.5 upvote
Articles less than 50 words >> Automatic rejection
All of these are still being manually operated and may be a little rough but as we taxi off from the ground up, be sure that operations will become smoother. The above upvote weights will improve as we get additional Steem Power.
