Player Profile: Aiden Markram

Everyone is always happy when young cricket players play exceeding well. From Kagiso to the rest of the world, it is often a struggle to pick out the best players based on their performances. To the rest of the world, the South African team is one of the best currently. With this in mind, we would look at yet another player who belonged to the South Africa team of cricket players. The name of this player is Aiden Markam. Who is he and why have we chosen to talk about him today?

Who is Aiden Markam?

Born in 1994 and aged 25, he is one of the younger players who are tasting success for their domestic teams and countries very well in the game of cricket. He is a pretty tall guy and stands on over 6 feet which makes him intimidating and scary when they are on the field.

His first debut in the game of cricket can be traced back to the game where the Northern cricket team of the SA plays against the Western districts. This debut took place just about five years ago. He has also had the chance of actually becoming a professional when he played in the Bolton league belonging to cricket players.

His efforts while playing have not been ignored and South Africa has rewarded him for the efforts he has put in. when the cricket annual award which is held by South Africa came along in 2017, he was then declared to be the winner of the award; the newcomer of the year. He also had the opportunity of being included in the Nelson Mandela’s team which is formed from the top cricket players currently in South Africa. As of 2019, he finds himself in England. This happens after he has signed a deal taking him to Hampton County cricket club.

His purchase would make him the very first person from outside of the country to play for the team, a noble achievement by the player.

International performances

Aiden would have to wait until at less 2017 before he could make his debut for his national team. The first time he made it into the national team would also earlier that year. But during the period, he could not make it into the team. However, the test series which started again Bangladesh sometime that year provided the opportunity to show everyone what he did and boy, did he show them.

In October 2017, he was able to pull off an amazing feat after he scored a test century on only his second attempt. He did this against the same Bangladesh team and it was from that moment on that his team probably understood that they had someone special.

Conclusion

Aiden Markam would join other young players in their bid for fame. He would be hoping that his great days are all in front of him and that he will stay at the very top for years to come. That may not be too hard to achieve.
