Today we saw a major upset when Norwich beat Manchester City. A team that cost a fraction of the price ($500 Million difference) upset the apple cart and turned over a team that on paper they should have stood no chance.

We see this happening from time to time and then the following week that lesser known team loses to another lesser known team. The world of sport is crazy and full of surprises and that is why we love it. Nothing is impossible and no one is unbeatable as anything can happen on the day.

Manchester City have a target on their back after dominating the English Premier League and they are seen as the team to beat. The same thing happened when Manchester United were playing under Alex Ferguson. The teams saw their match as an event, a special occasion to lift their game and create opportunities.

I know what it is like as I used to practice tennis against a player 1000 times better than me and it raised my game and I bought them down to my standard. It is all in the head and I would suggest than Manchester City lost to themselves today. In their minds they had already won before they had arrived at the ground.I have experienced that first hand playing rugby against a bottom side in the league and we as a team hadn't take them seriously and had our arses kicked by them. These are very good lessons in sport and life.

One of the Norwich stars who scored a goal and laid another one on the plate is a lesser known striker called Teemu Pikku who hails from Finland. He quite openly said he was scared playing them today as they know how good they are. Norwich saw the game like a Cup Final and that is how they played. There is no way they can repeat that week in and week out, but for special occasions when the bigger teams are around they will have a crack at them.

Norwich arrived at the ground knowing everyone expected them to lose fairly badly and they helped them as they had nothing to lose then. Sometimes being an underdog when you have been written off makes you more dangerous. Look what happened to Mike Tyson,Anthony Joshua and I can list a whole lot more who thought it would be easy.

A top sportsmen needs a killer instinct no matter who or what is in front of him. Pep Guardiola hasn't got a bad team all of a sudden and this will give them a massive wake up call. Liverpool are 5 points clear already and they have to slip up somewhere in their next 33 games. I feel sorry for Watford who play City next as there will be no mercy. There will be no room for any more slip ups and complacency would have been kicked out of them now.
