National Flag Football League - Tournemanet #3 - Split SeaWolves
Hello my lovely people. Last Saturday (4 days ago) I went to Dubrovnik to play 4 games for Split SeaWolves in Nation Flag Football League. Dubrovnik is about 3 hours away from my homeplace, so we went with 2 cars and 1 minivan. This league has 6 tournaments before final fours and this was the third one. We were lucky that most of us weren't injured or working so we went in big numbers, about 15 of us.
This time we played against Karlovac Dukes who were 3nd on the table, Dubrovnik Sharks who played home and Zaprešić Saints who were 2nd on the table. We also needed to play 2 games against Saints, but we only played one.
We played a 2nd game of the tournament, the sun was shining like crazy so we sat in the shade until the start of the second half of first game. After that, we started to warm up and getting our mindset ready for the win.
The first game, against Karlovac Dukes, was really tough for the first half. We struggled in the Defense at the beginning, but after we changed the formation we started to play really well. Offense had a great game and after the first half we shifted into 5th gear and we won the game.
The game against Dubrovnik Sharks started as badly as it can. After just 3 drives, we were down by 2 TDs. We didn't play good and it was time to call a Time Out. We said to ourselves that it's time to wake up and go play like brothers, and that's what we did. Everything started to go our way and we secured a big win eventually.
The third and last game was against Saints from Zaprešić. They are always a tough opponent but this time they were not that lucky and we really played a good game. We secured a really big and somehow easy win. We were so lucky that the whole team played well, from our youngsters to players who are almost veterans.
The second game against Saints was surrendered by them, and we got an instant 35:0 win.
After 3 tournaments and 9 games, we are sitting on the top of the table waiting for next tournament which will be in my hometown, Split. It will be in two weeks and we want to secure 1st place so our youngsters can play much more and gain much-needed experience. Some of them will play the first tackle season after the summer and they can't wait for it.
I was satisfied how I played, I had 4 interceptions and few deflections in 3 games. Not bad :D So in 7 games I have 11 interceptions, and I must say that I need to step it up haha I'm satisfied but that doesn't mean I will be relaxed now, I will go much harder as always.

It seems to me my friend that you did a great job and your team is winning. It does get much better than that right?
And, I sure understand always wanting to do even better for your team. There is always something to improve on. :)
Yes, hard work pays of, brother. This year we play with a lot of juniors so it's a special feeling to teach them and to play with them to see how they're growing as players.
You know it, no stopping ever! ;) There's a lot of thing to learn here and I'm all for learning and growing!

You guys were on fire last weekend!!!! It sounds like it was a fun and exciting tournament! Nothing better than a weekend full of football. We play a lot of touch football around here. It fun to keep laying at our age. Lol thanks for sharing.
Yeah, we were! It was really good to have our Offense backing us up when we were bad, and vice versa. I really enjoyed playing this tournament, it was tough to play in 3 games but we made it and I'm satisfied with the whole team.. I can't wait for the next tournament in my city. That will be fun!
