Baseball is a sport that I have not really bothered to watch or understand the game play. Is the coach not responsible for their poor or great performance? Or are the players training responsibility the job of the players themselves?
The coach does not have much influence over players' performances, though a really good coach can help put players in the situations where they can best succeed. It makes some difference, but usually not much.
