DAME TIME DID NOT SHOW UP

It was a frustrating series for the Portland Trail Blazers after being swept by the 6th seeded New Orleans Pelicans. Having been dominated by the duo of Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, and Rajon Rondo it was a nightmare series for Portland. Keeping in mind that New Orleans all star Demarcus Cousins is currently injured, and out for the rest of the season.

So what went wrong with the Portland? Simply we did not see the team that we saw in the second half of the season, and their star point guard Damian Lillard really could not replicate the performances during the regular season. Jrue Holiday won his individual matchup with Lillard, and "Playoff Rondo" showing up was also a major factor with stats of 12.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 12.3 assists for Rondo during the series. We always knew that Anthony Davis will be dominating inside with monster numbers across the boards.

Last week in this post before the Playoffs started. I predicted that the series will go to a game 7 and the Trail Blazers eventually winning. What a surprise it is that the Trail Blazers were swept.

So my prediction was totally wrong, let's maintain a scoreboard for that:

Wrong Predictions: 1

The future for the Trail Blazers

With the recent disappointing first round exit there are news that Terry Stotts the Head Coach of Portland may be fired. Also there are a lot of questions for Portland heading into the off season. Will they break up the back court tandem of McCollum and Lillard? or keep the roster intact? We will wait and see.
