College Football: South Florida at San Jose State, What to Bet and Why

Today is the Open of the 2017 College Football Season! Tonight one of the best teams in the country opens up on the road. South Florida traveled across the country to face off against San Jose State.

Yesterday I posted on how and why to Bet on Colorado State as a -180 favorite and their game just ended. They won 58-27 in a stress free W. Lets try and go 2-0 with another play tonight.

South Florida has one of the best players in the country in quarterback Quinton Flowers. He had a phenomenal season last year not only throwing the ball, but also running the ball with 18 rushing touchdowns. He has most of his offensive weapons back for him and is poised to make a run at the Heisman Trophy. After going 11-2 on the season, the Bulls lost their coach who accepted the job at Oregon. But the good news is that they were able to hire one of the best in the business, Charlie Strong. Strong had huge success at Louisville before going to Texas and has a bad taste in his mouth since being let go by the Longhorns. He has a lot to prove and plenty of talent to do so with.

Another thing going for the Bulls is their easy schedule. If they want to make the college football playoffs, they will have to impress the selection committee by blowing out their opponents. And they will attempt to do that tonight against San Jose State. They are a 22 point favorite as kickoff approaches.

San Jose State also has some talent back on the offensive side of the ball. They have 9 returning starters starters including a great receiving core. I expect them to also move the ball well against South Florida.

So what does all of this mean? The over under in the game is 70 points. That total is VERY high but it does not scare me. My play for this game is to take the OVER 70 points. There will be a ton of offense and it will be a blast to watch.
