Neuville's shunt at Ypres Rally

Thierry Neuville is incredibly quick driver. He survived all kind of competitions, from Belgium Championship, IRC - Intercontinental Rally Challenge (organized by Eurosport, it doesn't exist anymore; it's ERC these days) and finally he signed for Hyundai in six numbers contract.
Neuville is on the right and his co-driver Gilsoul on the left
He lives in Monaco these days and when he is not on rallies of World Rally Championship, he sometimes drives Hyundai rally car of WRC2 category i20 R5 on his native rally - Ypress Rally in Belgium.
He is sometimes crash prone and that's his problem. He loses points with 'stupid' mistakes.

Ypres rally is really quick event with high average speeds. It has long straights with 90 degree corners and it's very important to drive very clean because the smallest mistake can dismiss you from the rally like we saw what Neuville did.

That accident was crazy they flipped like twice; lucky guys hopped out the wreck like it was nothing. But I don't see the mistake, that was a sharp turn an he was going to fast. But that was nuts if you go off those roads slightly your in for trouble. I feel this sport takes precision that's why you have the second guy mapping out the turns while the driver drives. If one guy messes up tho driver or mapper your in for a crash like that. Good thing they alright though 🙏🙏
well, they came to quick in the corner and if it was dirty there (and it was), you're off the road that second. it looks nasty, but in reality everything is finished in few moments.
That few moments felt like a good 20 mins I watched it over an over there were flipping! Had to be the car why they survived, cause if I flipped my car like that I'm done!

Wow, really great photos. I never seen so many rally cars wrecked on a course. Must have been a sick course.
