Sports Day Runner Ups - Badminton. Read the awesome experience

When you participate by chance just to partner one of your friend and reach the final.

I was scrolling through the gallery and came across this picture, so thought of sharing it with the community with the story behind it.

We had a sports day some time ago. There were some games like Cricket, Badminton, Human Fooseball, Sac Race, Tug of war. The event was very well organised in a resort in New Delhi. There was a rule that you can only participate in one game only. Since, Human Fooseball was introduced for the first time, it has the maximum participation. I also participated in Human Fooseball. Unfortunately, even after winning the first game our team was disqualified because there were 10 teams in total and since only 4 teams can reach the semifinals out of the 5 teams which won their first match, our team was disqualified because the difference by which our team won the match was less than that of any other team. This was an instant decision with team having no knowledge about all this. We spoke about this but they refused and said the decision to be final.

It was very disappointing for us. After sometime, a friend approached me and asked if I would like to play Badminton. I said yes but also asked him that it was a rule that we can only participate in a single game. Fortunately, more nominations were taken at that time and we were allowed to participate. With all the enthusiasm I agreed. We have to play 4 matches in total to reach final. You can make what would have been my feeling at that time. After that it was time to play final but there was again the same issue which happened in Human Fooseball. There were 3 teams but only 2 of them can play. This time our score was higher than one time and we were to play the final but this time they convinced the refree and an instant decision was made where we have to play a match against the 3 team to qualify for the finals. This was very much disappointing even more than when we were disqualified before. Finally, we had no option left and had to play that match. Again, fortune was with us and we won.

Yippie, It was the time for the finals. There was only one set of 15 points. Initially it was going well, 3-3, 5-6 but soon after this the momentum shifted and we metch started slipping from our hands. The score was 13-8. We were loosing. Finally, we lost that match with 15-11 and became runner ups in the competition. We still enjoyed all this as it was a moment of joy where with no clue of even playing we played finals and became runner ups.
