Hateful gestures in MLB World Series. What are your thoughts?

Last nights World Series game ended in dramatic fashion as Alex Bregmen hit a walk off home-run. What seems to get lost from the game is the gestures that Houstons first-basemen, Yuli Gurriel, made to Yu Darvish. Gurriel was seen making gestures in regards to Yu Darvishs eyes. He mocked Darvish by making slanted eye gestures to. This was seen on national television. Many are furious about Gurriels actions, while some see it as just a mistake in the heat of the moment. The Japanese community is extremely upset with MLBs reaction. Gurriel was suspended 5 games for his actions... Heres the catch though, he is sentenced to serve his suspension next season. Many people wanted to see Gurriel pay the consequences in this years World Series matchup. I believe Gurriel should serve at least a one game suspension in the World Series. This is more than generous on Gurriels part. To clarify, Yu Darvish, is of Japanese decent and came over in his later years to take on Americas professional baseball. It is truly an amazing story of hard-work and over coming obstacles. Its upsetting that MLB and baseball in general is getting negative publicity due to Gurriels actions. Im sure it was just a lost of temperament in the heat of the moment. I doubt there was any malicious or extremely hateful motive behind his actions.

Being a current pro-baseball player, I understand how your emotions can get the best of you in sports. Im not saying Guriells actions should be condoned, what I am saying is that I could understand the motive behind his actions. I feel upset for Darvish as being mocked is not fun for anyone in any situation. Darvish was the bigger man an issued an apology on his Twitter.
