...It was a very disappointing outing for the Africa representatives at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. For the first time since 1982 in Spain, no Africa was able to make it pass through the group stage of the tournament.
The Africa defending champions Cameroon, failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup Russia, after loosing their spot in the qualifying round to the 2013 Africa champions Nigeria. The 3 time Africa Champions Nigeria qualified alongside Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal.
The World Cup campaign began on 14th of June, which saw Egypt loosing their first game by alone goal to Uruguayans, thou their talisman Mohammed Salah missed the opening match due injury sustained in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Egypt second match was against the host Nation Russia, The Pharaohs succumbed to the host Russia 3-1, which saw Mo' Salah scoring his first goal. The last match saw Egypt bowed out of the tournament loosing to the Saudi Arabians 1-2,
without any point in Russia.
Another Africa team Nigeria, with the youngest squad in Russia, played their opening match against the Croatians and lost by 2-0, before reviving their hopes after beating Iceland 2-0, but unfortunately crashed out after a 2-1 lost to the Argentina.

Another North Africa team Morocco, lost their opening match to Iran and second match to Portugal, but drew the last match against Spainish side, which saw them out of the tournament with just a point.

Despite the fact that Africa has produced some of the best talent to play in European leagues, and a standing prediction by Brazil football legend Pele that an African team would win the World Cup by 2000, the wait is still on.

Tunisia got eliminated out of the tournament after loosing their opening game 1-2 against the English side and 2-5 against the Belgians side, and winning the last match against Panama.

Senegal join the other Africa teams after it became the first team in football history to eliminated by fair play points.

Despite winning their opening game against poland and also pick a draw against Japan, but lost to Colombians in the final group stage match 0-1. Senegal was tied with Japan on four points, had the same goal difference and were edged out by the Asians because they had two more yellow cards.
