Fears Rise Again Over Corruption In Soccer
There has reportedly been a surge in popularity for women's soccer in recent years, particularly with the Women's World Cup tournament. And where there is interest and viewers, you'll find that's where brands flow. This is reportedly slowly changing the marketing game now as more brands are stepping in to sponsor high-profile female athletes.
But along with the surge in interest for women's sport, particularly soccer, authorities fear that it could bring with it an increased risk of corruption too.
Fifa and the International Cricket Council have reportedly intensified their efforts as a result, to try and safeguard themselves and the sport from such corruption.
Even though Fifa has faced previous accusations of their officials accepting bribes, they have endured a series of scandals and many might even suggest that as a governing body they themselves are too corrupt, though that degree of corruption is still debatable. There have been many calls to try and address and fix the corruption in soccer.
To try and monitor the situation it's alleged that authorities have been working with Fifa to create an "integrity task force" and they also monitor in-game betting as well.
@doitvoluntarily Hello dear friend. I love women's football, in my country there are good players.
It's incredible, the corrupt are up to the expectations of everything. I'm not surprised at all.
I wish you a wonderful weekend
same to you @jlufer !
Fears? Professional sports is a mafia domain, and football brings the most of the money — more than all other sports put together!
So I recently heard a couple of them are men on hormones from reputable sources.
