Ultimate Frisbee has three junior categories. U17, U20 and U24. Under 24 is definitely the most enjoyable one. Firstly, the players had enough time to mature and have reached the age where their full potential of their bodies could have been unlocked. Secondly, the players usually play Frisbee for at least couple of years, therefore the maturity of their game sense is not in its prenatal stages anymore. The players are though still pretty young and that means that they from time to time opt for reckless decisions, which leads to interesting game situations.

U24 World Championships has been held in Perth like a month ago. I miss good old outdoor ultimate for some time now, but World Flying Disc Federation has uploaded all the streamed games on YouTube for free, which enabled me, at least partly, to satisfy my need of an “interaction” with outdoor Ultimate. Right now I’m bouncing about idea of introducing Dtube to them and what might be a good way to do it, since I want our federation to earn some of the invested money back for their effort. Anyway the important thing for now is that we have the footages. Up until now I have only shared reports from our tournaments with attached photos. Now I can finally share game footages of high quality (unfortunately Czechs haven’t been part of the tournament due to lack of money…my last possible U24 World Championships btw:(. What I can do though is to share the best games that have been played over there. Keep in mind that it was EXTREMELY windy throughout the week. Because of that the performances weren’t as smooth as they would usually be in better conditions, but the matches were more interesting because of that anyway.

I personally am not fond of women category. Don’t take me wrong I love women lol, but most of the time their gameplay s just…not fun to watch. Even on world level their performance is oftentimes sloppier than the sloppiest deep throat. There are though several powerhouses in the world, that are on completely different level. Those are USA, Canada and Japan.

Canada VS Japan

This was an INCREDIBLE MATCH! Two hours of insane athletic skills, flying bodies and unceasing intensity. The match was even until the very last second. The girls also maintained a highly spirited approach. It always is fun to watch Japan’s ninja-like style, against the USA’s/Canada’s raw power approach. If you won’t enjoy this game, you probably won’t enjoy any other women’s Ultimate Frisbee game…

Canada VS USA

Speaking about raw power. Shit gets real when Canada and USA meets in an Ultimate Frisbee match of any category. Those two nations are arguably the best hatcheries of Ultimate Frisbee players and their games always remind us of the fact. If only Czech women ever got close to this level while I’m still alive…

Men’s category

Germans have made it twice to the streamed field throughout the group stages. That is useful for our team (FUJ), because we have played that team twice during last season on one of the reported tournaments, therefore we can compare ourselves to the teams that were met by the Germans. Guess what, we have defeated them in the finals. Overall it’s an awesome news that our current roster would be able to compete against the best U24 players of the world. Great news indeed!!! Both of the games were awesome, even though Germans seemed a bit less spirited team than Italy, which was a bit of a shocker, since Italy is overall one of the worst spirited nations in Ultimate Frisbee world. I though am very happy, because it seems like they have recognized their weakness and have been trying to improve it (it seems), congrats for that (even though they claimed one of the last "Spirit positions" anyway:/)!

When I’ll watch the rest of the games I’ll share the best ones from the elimination stages! Stay tuned.
