This weeks Splinterlands battle challenge is Little League. I came up against @kengod and checked the battle conditions, weak magic and little league.

At the time I was playing Water Splinter, luckily the Spineback Turtle is a solid tank even not in little league, add to that the weak magic Battle condition causing magic attacks to hit armour first, it comes highly recommended. I’m sure many will debate my selection of the Electric Eels for the second card, I even questioned myself when doing it. I like the idea of reach cards but most cost 5 mana and I always ask myself if it’s worth it. In this case I wanted the extra health to give my magic cards time to take out as many monsters as possible, before they ended up in the front line. A must have in any line up is a healer, hence the Crustacean King, a healer just helps keep that tank alive and delays the attack on your backline. The next three cards I’m looking for need two plus attack with either magic or range. Why because you want to be throwing out more damage then your opponent to take down their frontline before they take out yours.

Also I took into consideration the magic boost from my summoner Alric Stormbringer, boosting my Ice Pixie, Medusa and Elven Mystic’s attacks to two. The other thing to take into consideration is health which is another reason I chose the Medusa and the Elven Mystic, with four and three health respectively, they are hard to go past.

In summary you want a strong frontline and heavy hitting backline with the little league battle condition. Monsters with extra health are a bonus.

This is not a line up I had used before as untamed cards are new and with all the battle conditions and six splinters ,if you include dragon, you rarely get little league with the same conditions as the previous time. But my summary sums up my thinking when choosing a team for little league.

I like that little league gets you to use some of your little cards you may normally over look as the bigger cards have more value in the game.

My strategy played out well this time and I would use it again, but like I said the other battle conditions are that variable that it is unlikely that the next time I have little league that the rules will be the same.
