RE: 50 DAYS TO UNDERSTANDING THE END-TIMES MORE ACCURATELY - DAY 46 : DRUNKENESS - AUDIO & VIDEO

in #spirituality6 years ago (edited)

Fortunately our interpretations have nothing to do with our salvation. If they did I would be more concerned. I honestly don't want to go back and forth with you on this but for the purpose of other readers I will address the points that you raised.

The apostles got many things wrong and there were many things that they didn't understand. During his ministry Jesus' own brother didn't believe that he was God and neither did the other apostles. They only believed after he rose from the dead. It is no surprise that they got some doctrines wrong - there were many things that they did not understand.

One: Mt. 24:21 - You ASSUME he's talking about the whole world. The biblical authors never do. They are always talking about their world. How else could Paul say that the Gospel reached the ends of the world before he had written the epistle that says that?

Matt 24:21 - For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Nor ever shall be means anytime in history and in the future.

Romans 16:10 - The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Satan has not yet been crushed. Notice the word soon was used by Paul when he wrote to the Romans 2,000 years ago. Clearly, we are still waiting - unless you believe that Satan was crushed a long time ago?

Paul's epistles are not the Gospel.

Gospel means Good News. The Good News reached the ends of the world soon after Jesus rose from the dead. The Gospel is the message of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, the grace of God and our belief.

Two: You ASSUME the elect in Mt. 24:31 are people.

The elect are the saved and only people can be saved.

2 Timothy 2:10 - Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Other than people - what else could possibly receive the gift of salvation?

Luke 18:7 - And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

What cries day and night that isn't human? Who does God bear with other than humans?

Three: You ASSUME that Jesus' millenial reign is to be taken literally.

Revelation 20:7 - When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison,

Revelation 20:2 - And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years

This is clear scripture and if we don't take it literally I don't know how we can take any scripture literally, including salvation. How exactly does one determine what to take literally (believe) and what to reject by interpreting it symbolically? That sounds very subjective to me.

Four: You ASSUME that the Son of Perdition is the Antichrist.

Who else in the last 2,000 years has sat on the throne in the temple and declared himself to be God? The temple was destroyed in 70AD and the antichrist (son of perdition) will reign from the temple that is yet to be built.

Five: You ASSUME the Antichrist is a person.

What do you think he is if not a person?

Daniel 9:27 - And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

He is clearly a man (person).

Six: You ASSUME that nobody in the 1st Century sat in the temple and said he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:4 - Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Once again we see he (person). Shewing himself to be God would require signs and wonders and a declaration that he is God.

Who or what has done this in the last 2,000 years?

Revelation 13: 8 - And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Bible says that everyone that dwells on the earth will worship the beast (him/person).

Who or what has everyone worshipped in the last 2,000 years that sat in the temple, said he was God and shewed great signs and wonders?

I would encourage you to watch the series on the Book of Revelation that I posted above. Please watch them and then come back to discuss this topic if you wish. There is over 22 hours of video so it should keep you busy for some time.

Thanks for the chat. I sincerely wish you all the very best!

Hey @steemtruth. Sorry to take so long getting back to you. I don't necessarily want to go back and forth either but you did ask some questions but instead of answering them here I created a post Wrong Assumptions About the End Times that should I hope answer most of the issues you raised here. To be honest, I can't see myself watching 22 hours of video to see something I already understand. I'm fairly well versed on this subject. Let me know if you have any questions about what I've presented and I'll do my best to answer.

God bless Bro.!
