SPIRITUAL FOOD 4 THOUGHT - "THAT'S A SIN YOU MAY STRUGGLE WITH YOUR WHOLE LIFE"

in #spirituality5 years ago

That's not the best message in my opinion.

Have you ever heard a pastor or some other believer claim, "That may be a sin you struggle with for your whole life," or some other form of that statement? How does such a claim measure up against Matthew 5, 1 Corinthians 6, or Revelation 2 & 3?

Personally, I think it's a sad belief system that encourages a laxadasiacal attitude towards purity, holiness, and spiritual growth. In this video, I share some of my thoughts on the matter, starting in Matthew 5. Next time I'll be back to share more of what I believe based upon Christ's statements in Matthew and some things in the so-called "natural world."

Here is the comment I left over at youtube...wanted to share it here on steemit as well......

Nice to see you back again! I hope you will be able to do more of these with a little less time in between videos! haha! Just kidding!

In this life will we fall and fail..yes..we are then picked back up through the redemptive power of the Lamb. BUT if we life our life saying that we will have to live with the sin our whole life then what you are doing is setting yourself up for failure. You are telling yourself that "yes, I know it is wrong and I am going to do it again but the pastor told me it was going to be this way" We are to flee as far from sin as possible and if something causes us to sin then we need to do all that we can to not get into a situation where we can do those sins again...

1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

What an excellent verse to bring into this conversation. Fully agreedm, amen!

You must know how to interpret the word of God in the bible, I think not everyone knows how to do it.
You do a great job

Wow, humbling to read. I hope that you are correct. Thank you.

Thank you so much for bringing back Spiritual Food 4 thought. It makes a lot of sense. We need to be totally clean. How can we do that when we cling to a few sins. For those contaminate. We would not choose to use food if part of it is rotten. We would not enter a friends home with muddy slimy shoes and track on the white pure carpet. They would not allow it. So to is God. We get cleaned up by Him and leave our dirty sins our filthy shoes behind. Thanks for your ministry. @papa-pepper.
