Humility: The Real Goal of Evolution

I received a short paper from a friend, which describes the complexity of the DNA in various species and compares that to the DNA of humans. Some are comparable in the number of genes they sport, and others have many more genes than us. I appreciate what he is saying re humans—in their outer form— that they’re not so very different from other manifest creatures, and that we have much less genetic variety than some others, so we should be more humble.

BUT…

It is highly misleading to be comparing the substance that humans use to express physically with that which other creatures use. In one sense, it may appear that consciousness engaging more genes would indicate higher evolution. Yet, as I see it, more genes only enable a greater expression in maya. It’s like putting more kinds of paint on the pallet. Greater expressed variety or detail is possible. However, I can’t say for sure (I’ve not studied biology or human physiology in depth), but my guess is that human physiology is more complex than some of the other forms of consciousness my friend’s article cited; in spite of pulling that off with fewer genes. Nevertheless, when it comes to maya, concluding what’s more or less evolved may be but a matter of taste. It’s kinda like comparing Jackson Pollack mishmash with Paul Klee’s “Red Balloon.”

I suppose the assumed implication of my friend’s article is that consciousness needs more genes to express itself when it is evolutionarily more advanced; that there is a correspondence between evolutionary advancement and the number of genes. That might hold true for outer, material evolution. But I don’t think that assumption holds when comparing the spiritual potential of humans with the material development of animals (including humans), plants and minerals.

No matter how complex and supposedly advanced the maya looks, it’s still maya: the temporary fantasy world. That realm is made available to all life forms to develop their consciousness, whatever its ultimate potential may be. It’s especially useful to humans in that it provides a laboratory in which they can prove that they will use energy as only love in its many modes and forms; that they will not become a threat to universal harmony if given access to “infinite” power as an immortal.

The determining factor regarding evolution is that humans have a threefold flame (the actual living Presence of the infinite One) located in an “energy” center called “the secret chamber of the heart.” Animals/plants/minerals do not. They are the expressed bodies of Elohim, the Cosmic Beings who manage manifestation. They are not individuals in the same sense that humans are. Each such species expresses a group soul. Minerals, plants and animals are evolving to the stage of Life at which they, too, may eventually become human, gaining access to individual immortality.

The threefold flame is the crux of the difference between humans and other types of consciousness. The degree of a being’s divine evolution is not signaled by the degree of complication that a creature expresses in maya. It may well be, that the group soul of creatures lacking the threefold flame are developing their material consciousness to a super great multiparous degree—much greater than humans. But they are not developing the sort of consciousness that enables such an one to go on in evolution to individually express through a body encompassing a solar system, a galaxy and on and on. Development in maya is not the goal. It’s more like a college student sitting at home doing homework, which will prepare them to enter their chosen profession in the mainstream.

The Real Goal of Evolution

The real goal of evolution is the development of humility. All Real spiritual progress involves enabling individual consciousness to support/nourish more and more divine virtue. When I say “more and more,” though, I am not referencing mere physicality or even the development of more intelligent lower egos. The “more and more” of Real spiritual awareness is actually “less and less.” Spiritual evolution (the Real important kind of evolution) involves hooking up beings with “other” Beings, “higher” in the spiritual Hierarchy who are ever more humble than the lesser evolved ones.

The more humility you evince and evidence, the more of Life you, individually, ARE. There is simply less “I-me-mine” ego in the way. Infinity can be known/Lived through a wider bottleneck. Spiritual evolution can best be grasped by understanding the nature of the office Gautama Buddha currently occupies: the Lord of the World.

The Lord of the World (currently Gautama Buddha) maintains a direct link to every threefold flame on the planet. He provides the alchemical interface connecting unascended beings (humans karmicly affixed to the wheel of birth and death) and ascended (immortal) Beings. He bridges the abyss between those living in the outer realms of the human incubator of our planet and the creators of the infinite immortal realms. In a manner of speaking, Gautama is like a wet nurse.

But his intimacy with us is far greater than that. He has addressed us, all of humanity, with the words “O my soul.” In other words, he experiences each of our souls as a compartment of His own soul. The reason He can do that is because He has risen to the level of humility that alchemically broaches the maya which would otherwise seem to render us as separate from Him. To Gautama, we are One. He spiritually nourishes us as cells in his own body. And, of course, there are other Beings yet more humble than Him who alchemically nourish Gautama and others at His level of the spiritual Hierarchy. And the chain of Hierarchy goes up and up in humility all the way to the One I AM Presence. Then, even beyond that, the One I AM Presence derives ever greater divine humility from the infinite mystery of what Kabbalists call Ein Soph. (The alchemy way up there is so far out/in as to not even be mind boggling—so far beyond mind is it.)

Most certainly, my friend’s article and this one share the same conclusion: humans have every reason in and out of the world to be humble, more humble and ever humbler still. But that’s not just because some Earthly species have more genes than the human physical body. Greater diversity in corporeal manifestation does not signal greater spiritual development—God’s own growth. That comes of deepening the humility saturating an individual’s threefold flame evolving divine Presence.
