El esperado dia de la ópera llegó.
Fuimos al Auditorio de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. La arquitectura de este edificio es soberbia. Ha sido realizada por Santiago Calatrava Valls.
Pocos eventos culturales vienen a Tenerife, así que hay que aprovecharlos todos sin dudar.
La ópera reúne todas las artes escénicas en una sola. En ella se junta el teatro, el canto, la danza la música, los trajes, la escenografía ...Por eso se considera que es el arte escénico mas global.
Aunque la ópera a algunos les pueda parecer un arte caduco yo os pido que le deis una oportunidad. No os defraudará.
En el Auditorio, una vez sentado y esperando al comienzo observé su espectacular techo. Al mirar hacia arriba, observé que la estructura es un prisma que forma una estrella con una iluminación potente central.
Se me va la cabeza y mi imaginación me sugiere que por la boca de luz irradian rayos mágicos de creatividad e inspiración. A través de este * ostium cenital se infunde sensibilidad y sentido artístico por todo el recinto. Casi siento que algo divino entra a través de esta boca y que sobrevuela nuestras cabezas.
Argumento de Turandot
Turandot es una princesa china. Es gélida como un témpano de hielo. Parece no tener sentimientos. Guarda un profunfo resentimiento contra el el género masculino.
Es la hija del rey de Pekin. Su padre la ha obligado a contraer matrimonio, pero ella odia a los hombres. Una antecesora de ella fue violada hace cientos de años. En su fuero interno, ella sabe que porta una tara genética. Su maldad proviene de aquellos genes que el antiguo abusador introdujo en el momento de la concepción cuando violó a aquella antigua pariente de la que ella desciende.
Turandot siente un profundo rencor y sentimiento de culpabilidad.
Para evitar las nupcias lo ha puesto difícil. Ha prometido casarse sólo con aquel noble de sangre real que sepa contestar con acierto a tres complicados enigmas.
El reto consiste en que ella propone unas preguntas al pretendiente pero, si la respuesta no es correcta el noble enamorado será decapitado inmediatamente.
La fama de frialdad de Turandot se agranda como un iceberg. Ya ha matado a muchos y tiene una larga historia sangrienta. Está sedienta de venganza hacia el sexo masculino que la subyuga. Tema, quizás candente en la actualidad.
El osado y valiente Calaf se presenta al reto. Puede hacerlo porque es noble. Es hijo del rey Timur, antiguo dirigente del pueblo tártaro que fue vencido hace años.
Calaf ha llegado a Pekin donde encuentra a su padre Timur. El viejo lleva una vida miserablemente y mendicante acompañado por su criada, la dulce y entregada Liu.
Calaf se presenta ante el reto. Todo el mundo le pude que no lo haga, pero el insiste. Finalmente, jugándose literalmente la vida, consigue acertar los difíciles enigmas. Pero el valiente no quiere ganar a Turandot como si fuera un trofeo material. Calaf quiere que Turandot se enamore de él. Reto aún mas difícil.
Se establece un combate sutil y encubierto. Me recuerda a una corrida de toros. Le encuentro una similitud con el duelo entre el toro y el torero.
Calaf reta a Turandot a que descubra su nombre de pila. Nadie en Pekin lo conoce ni conoce su ascendencia. El tártaro promete que si ella descubre su nombre antes del amanecer, admitirá su derrota y será ejecutado. Sin embargo, si al amanecer Turandot no sabe su nombre, Calaf habrá vencido definitivamente y deberán casarse.
Es entonces cuando Turandot ordena que “Nadie Duerma” (Nesun Dorma) en Pekin. Su ejército sale a recorrer las calles y a interrogar a todo el mundo. Los soldados deben ir, casa por casa interrogando al pueblo y matándolo si no obtienen información. Con ello se pretende presionar e intimidar a Calaf para que se rinda y confiese su nombre.
Turandot es terriblemente mortífera y maligna. Ordena que nadie duerma. Todos los habitantes de Pekin pasarán por el filo de la muerte impotentes. Ordena una carnicería, si nadie descubre el nombre.
Alguien del pueblo observó que Liu y Calaf hablaban en la calle y lo delató. Entonces, los interrogatorios se centran en Liu, la fiel esclava de su padre. Tras un cruel martirio, Liu se quita la vida antes de confesar. Este aria es algo extraordinario, de una extrema dulzura y delicadeza. Me fascinó y conmovió totalmente.
El aria de Liu “Signora escolta”, Maria Callas la cantaba maravillosamente.

La princesa no consigue descubrir el nombre. Comprende que la valentía de Calaf se origina en el amor. Emocionada ella también se rinde ante el amor. El frio iceberg se desmorona. La ópera finaliza cuando el gélido corazón de Turandot cae derretido ante los pies de Calaf suplicándole un beso, pero...
Me sorprendió el final. Pensé que ambos se juntarían en un beso apretado. Sin embargo Turandot cae a los pies de Calaf y éste displicente recoge la capa de ella y se marcha lentamente dándole la espalda, como el torero que ha introducido toda su espada mortal en el toro y sabe certero que lo ha vencido.
Fue una noche mágica. Todo el mundo quedó contento y entusiasmado con la representación.
Me gustó la solemnidad de todos los actos. Entre todo, sobresalió la grandiosidad del coro que era muy numeroso y potente. También, destacaría el escenario que, aún siendo escueto y minimalista, tenía unos juegos de luces y sombras asombrosos que realzaban el drama.
An iceberg called Turandot
The expected day of the opera arrived. We went to the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Auditorium. The architecture of this building is superb. It has been made by Santiago Calatrava Valls.
Few cultural events come to Tenerife, so you have to take advantage of them all without hesitation.
The opera gathers all the performing arts in one. In it, the theater, singing, dance, music, costumes, set design meet ... That is why it is considered to be the most global stage art.
Although the opera to some may seem like an outdated art, I ask you to give it an opportunity. You will not be disappointed.
In the Auditorium, once seated and waiting at the beginning I observed its spectacular ceiling. Looking up, I observed that the structure is a prism that forms a star with powerful central lighting.
My head is gone and my imagination suggests that magical rays of creativity and inspiration radiate from the mouth of light. Through this * zenithal ostium sensitivity and artistic sense are infused throughout the venue. I almost feel that something divine enters through this mouth and over our heads.
Turandot's argument
Turandot is a Chinese princess. It is icy like an ice floe. It seems to have no feelings. He has a deep resentment against the masculine gender.
She is the daughter of the King of Pekin. Her father has forced her to marry, but she hates men. An ancestor of her was raped hundreds of years ago. In her heart, she knows that she carries a genetic defect. His evil comes from those genes that the old abuser introduced at the time of conception when he raped that old relative from whom she descended.
Turandot feels a deep rancor and guilt.
To avoid marriage, he has made it difficult. He has promised to marry only that royal nobleman who knows how to correctly answer three complicated enigmas.
The challenge is that she proposes some questions to the suitor but, if the answer is not correct, the noble lover will be beheaded immediately.
Turandot's fame of coldness enlarges like an iceberg. It has already killed many and has a long and bloody history. She is thirsting for revenge towards the male sex that subjugates her. Topic, perhaps hot today.
The brave and courageous Calaf presents himself to the challenge. You can do it because it is noble. He is the son of King Timur, a former leader of the Tatar people who was defeated years ago.
Calaf has arrived in Beijing where he finds his father Timur. The old man leads a miserable and mendicant life accompanied by his maid, the sweet and delivered Liu.
Calaf appears before the challenge. Everyone could not do it, but he insists. Finally, literally risking his life, he manages to solve the difficult enigmas. But the brave does not want to win Turandot as if it were a material trophy. Calaf wants Turandot to fall in love with him. Challenge even more difficult.
A subtle and covert combat is established. It reminds me of a bullfight. I find a similarity with the duel between the bull and the bullfighter.
Calaf challenges Turandot to discover his first name. No one in Beijing knows him or knows his ancestry. The Tatar promises that if she discovers her name before dawn, she will admit her defeat and be executed. However, if at dawn Turandot does not know his name, Calaf will have finally won and they will have to marry.
That is when Turandot orders that "Nobody Sleep" (Nesun Dorma) in Beijing. His army goes out on the streets and interrogates the whole world. The soldiers must go, house by house interrogating the town and killing it if they do not obtain information. This is intended to pressure and intimidate Calaf to surrender and confess his name.
Turandot is terribly deadly and evil. Order that nobody sleep. All the inhabitants of Pekin will pass by the edge of impotent death. Order a butcher shop, if nobody discovers the name.
Someone in the village noticed that Liu and Calaf were talking on the street and betrayed him. Then, the interrogations focus on Liu, the faithful slave of her father. After a cruel martyrdom, Liu takes his own life before confessing. This aria is something extraordinary, of an extreme sweetness and delicacy. It fascinated me and totally moved me.

The princess can not discover the name. Understand that Calaf's courage originates in love. Excited she also surrenders to love. The cold iceberg crumbles. The opera ends when the frozen heart of Turandot falls melted before the feet of Calaf begging a kiss, but ...
I was surprised by the end. I thought they would both meet in a tight kiss. However, Turandot falls at the feet of Calaf and this cavalier picks up the cloak of her and goes away slowly turning his back on him, like the bullfighter who has put all his mortal sword in the bull and knows that he has defeated him.
It was a magical night. Everyone was happy and excited about the performance.
I liked the solemnity of all the acts. Among all, stood out the grandiosity of the choir that was very numerous and powerful. Also, I would highlight the stage that, although being bare and minimalist, had a series of amazing lights and shadows that enhanced the drama.
Proyecto “Momentos”
El proyecto “Momentos” es una idea propia para desarrollar en Steemit. Pretendo describir, con unas cuantas fotos y unas pocas frases, lo que sucede en un determinado momento puntual.
Del mismo modo que la fotografía congela el instante, mi reto es describir un fragmento de tiempo con una serie limitada de fotografías y unas pocas frases.
Habitualmente, los momentos se acompañan de sentimientos o emociones, e intentaré plasmarlos también en este reto.
Como si fuera un haiku japonés, me he propuesto describir, de una manera sencilla, el asombro y la emoción que me produce la contemplación de la naturaleza.
Esa es la idea y espero que os guste.
"Moments" Project
The project "Moments" is an idea that I had to develop in Steemit. I intend to describe, with a few photos and a few sentences, what happens at a specific moment.
In the same way that photography freezes the moment, my challenge is to describe a fragment of time with a limited series of photographs and a few sentences.
Habitually, the moments are accompanied by feelings or emotions, and I will try to capture them in this challenge as well.
As if it were a Japanese haiku, I have proposed to describe, in a simple way, the amazement and emotion that the contemplation of nature gives me.
That's the idea and I hope you like it.

Cómo lo hago
Las fotos durante la representación no estaban permitidas. Por eso saqué las fotografías cuando ya terminó la obra y saludaban los artistas y músicos.
Hice las fotografías con mi iPhone X. Para la edición utilicé la aplicación Snapseed y para la firma digital usé la App Watermark.
Los dibujos los hice en el iPad con el programa Sketches.
The photos during the performance were not allowed. That's why I took the photographs when the work was finished and the artists and musicians greeted.
For the photography I use my iPhone X. For edition I use the Snapseed application and for the digital signature the Watermark app.
Everything I did on my mobile phone, I did not use the computer at all.
For the drawings, I use the Sketches program and paint them on the tablet.
Hace tiempo vi la película “Memorias de una Geisha”. Me gustó tanto que hice “capturas de pantalla” de algunos fotogramas. He recordado que las tenía y las he utilizado para ambientar esta publicación.
Some time ago I saw the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha". I liked it so much that I made "screenshots" of some frames. I remembered that I had them and I have used them to decorate this publication.

No es un tema obsoleto. Tal vez, en la actualidad podría catalogarse a Turandot en el grupo denominado “feminazi” en la facción mas ultra. Claro está que los contextos son totalmente distintos...
