Greetings to all, the following story was inspired by the digital art of @xpilar, I invite you to visit his blog. The picture that motivated this story is the following.
El desierto
Después de haber sido perseguido por varias horas por las naves de estas criaturas, logré escapar, sólo para que mi nave fallara en este maldito desierto, ahora estoy aquí en medio de la nada, a la espera de ser rescatado y con la esperanza de que mi baliza no sea localizada primero por ellos.
Es increíble pensar que este hostil planeta alguna vez fue nuestro hogar, que de aquí provenimos y hoy, ni siquiera podemos respirar su atmosfera, no acabo de entender cuál es el propósito de volver aquí, sólo el empecinado interés de algunos historiadores por conocer nuestro pasado.
Hoy no hay nada reconocible aquí, ya hemos explorado antiguos asentamientos en el cuarto planeta del sistema y las lunas de dos gigantes gaseosos, hemos recolectado muchos datos, pero ellos se empecinan en traernos aquí. Dicen que de aquí provenimos, pero no veo nada que parezca ni remotamente humano.
Sólo hay extrañas y agresivas criaturas, además de los nuevos habitantes de este mundo, ya hemos sido varias veces atacados por ellos, nuestras naves y armas son mejores, pero ellos nos superan en número, si quisiéramos los podríamos destruir sin mucho esfuerzo, pero los científicos se reúsan a que los ataquemos abiertamente y prefieren que continuemos haciendo este tipo de operaciones de bajo perfil recabando información dentro de extrañas ruinas.
Mi señal de emergencia ya fue respondida, espero no tener que aguardar aquí mucho tiempo más, cerca de aquí un enjambre de unas pequeñas y horribles criaturas carroñeras están devorando lo que parece el cadáver de algún tipo de cuadrúpedo gigante, espero que cuando terminen no se fijen en mí.
The desert
After being chased for several hours by the ships of these creatures, I managed to escape, just so that my ship failed in this damn desert, now I am here in the middle of nowhere, waiting to be rescued and hoping that my beacon is not located first by them.
It is incredible to think that this hostile planet was once our home, that we come from here and today, we can not even breathe its atmosphere, I do not understand what is the purpose of returning here, only the stubborn interest of some historians to know our past.
Today there is nothing recognizable here, we have already explored ancient settlements in the fourth planet of the system and the moons of two gaseous giants, we have collected a lot of data, but they insist on bringing us here. They say that we come from here, but I do not see anything that seems remotely human.
There are only strange and aggressive creatures, besides the new inhabitants of this world, we have already been attacked several times by them, our ships and weapons are better, but they outnumber us, if we wanted we could destroy them without much effort, but the scientists refuse to openly attack them and prefer that we continue to do this kind of low-profile operations gathering information inside strange ruins.
My emergency signal has already been answered, I hope I do not have to wait here much longer, a swarm of scary little scavengers are devouring what looks like the corpse of some giant quadruped, I hope that when they finish they will not crave me
