1 BOBOOTIE
Bobotie is a Cape Malay inspired dish. It is made with mince spiced with curry and turmeric and mixed with raisins, sultanas and almonds. It is finished off with an egg topping. This dish is truly a South African favourite.

2 TOMATO BREDIE
This traditional South African stew is generally prepared in the winter months. The ingredients includes tomatoes, mutton, potatoes, garlic, cinnamon, ginger, chilli and cloves.

3 CHAKALAKA
Chakalaka is spicy relish prepared to accompany a meal such as “pap and wors”( cooked ground maize meal and farmer’s sausage). This spicy accompaniment has vegetable such as peppers, onions, carrots, and tomatoes. 4 POTJIEKOS
Potjiekos (interpreted as pot food) is a stew in a round, cast-iron pot over an open fire. It is made with meat and vegetables. Everyone has their favourite recipe and style of preparing. It is a convenient method for catering for large number of people at a social gathering.

5 BUNNY CHOW
South Africans love their Indian and Malay type curries, and you may go as hot as you dare. Try bunny chow is you’re looking for an Authentic South African curry experience. It is a fast food dish which involves hollowing out loaf of white bread and filling with the curry of your choice. It is usually served with grated carrot and onion salad.
