Painting a Picture with Social Media.

People don't want to just hear sell, sell, sell. In fact, this is more likely to drive fans away than attract them. So it is important to try and engage your fans in interesting and innovative ways. A great way is to use your social media to tell a story, and for that story to be spread over a period of time whether days or weeks. It could be about the history of the product you are selling, how your company began or anything else related to the business sector you are in.

So, rather than one big post of 1000+ words where you spill out everything about everything, divide it up, finish with, 'more to follow tomorrow...' Where possible use photographs to illustrate each part and you may want to split up the storyline and post every other day, with a sales post in-between.

Obviously, it is not something that can be kept ongoing in all instances, but it does help paint a picture for your fans and followers, establish a rapport and build that all-important trust factor.
