There is a popular saying which I love so much when it comes to growth and Innovation

You cannot beat what you copy

A company that have find a way to hack that saying and get the upside is Facebook as they are on a world domination excersice to crush their other social media competitors that they cannot acquire

Snap Chat have been at the center of Facebook fight for sometime and in this fight they are both the elephant and the grass. The company however are fighting back however by Introducing a new feature which seems like a middle finger gesture to Facebook

Snapchat in a recent Innovation now lets you tag someone in your story. They created a swipe up function that allows you to see more details of the tagged person like handle and Bitmoji. There is also an 'Add' function in the tray

This will help create greater context within the platform which seems to be losing relevance daily to Instagram. It was recently reporrted by Cheddar that Snap Inc was laying off 120 employees from the Engineering department as it is obvious they need to cut costs from their quarterly report that are fiiled with losses

Over the past months there have been a lot of issues plaguing Steemit. Ranging from flagging wars to disagreements on how this platform should work

Just like Facebook took over myspace there are people who are saying that Steemit will soon become the Myspace of Blockchain Social Media. Though I personally don't believe in this.

The main issue that I have personally noticed on this platform is the issue of engagement. And with the rise of voting bots things might get much worse. Most people now don't want to engage they will rather just delegate their Steem power to Bots and take daily profits

This might be beneficial to them, but it is suffocating Minnows. What will happen if everyone delegates their Steem Power to Bots. It is not everyone who can afford to buy votes on their posts. Coupled with the fact that bots are not profitable

This is one of the things that needs to be paid attention to if this platform is going to survive and stand the tests of time

What other issues have you noticed on Steemit that you will like to talk about. Please share in the comments below

Something needs to be done about voting bots. It takes away social from the media platform. When I joined steemit, for every post there was a considerable number of engagements.

Now, you see a trending post with just 1or no comments. The upvotes are from bots and curation trails. If it continues like this, how will a Minnow like me not give up?

You are very right @molokwu. I have noticed the high rate at which people leave Steemit. All the Steem Promo will not be effective if we don't retain users

Business is a war between intelligent people hiding behind the brand and eliminating a competitor is part of winning the war.

Steemit might or might not become the myspace of our time but one thing that's sure and that I believe in so much is the great potential of the steem blockchain.

One thing that pisses me of recently here is the reach of post which is poor and responsible for no or little engagement.

How can someone with 2k followers make a post and get just 6 views in over 5 hours?

That's bad, it reducing engagement and kills productivity.

The dropping rate of engagement caused by bots and some other communal factors id to blame for this. As long as someone is following you they are bound to see your post @bania

An issue I have noticed is that I get very little engagement when I put out a question for discussion or feedback. It's almost like nobody is reading my posts. The few comments I usually get are clearly bots.

If Steemit becomes a platform where the only goal is to make money on posts, it will not last very long. Value has to come from somewhere and lately I am not seeing much of it, or rather I am seeing value but it is not being rewarded.

Very correctly said!

Another observation is steem being listed on more crypto wallets, it might end up leaving the platform with lesser attention, while people just trade to make their profits instead.

Fingers crossed tho, I believe steemit will stand the test of time.

The latter is the case on this platform right now @eroche. There is value everywhere but it is not being rewarded. Steemians who create quality content are getting discouraged

This is definitely a great post. The part that really caught my attention was the part where you mentioned minnows delegating their steem power to bots and taking daily profits.

Well, I have used the bots about five times, and I must confess that it is not profitable (at all).

Another issue I would like to talk about is the issue of forming relationships because I am already tired. I have tried to form a cool relationship with some of my followers and the people I follow, and at first it might seem that we are cool, but later, the interactions would stop, and despite being cool, out of about 200 followers, I discovered that I don't really have more than five cool ones.

What do you think is really the issue? Do people just follow for following sake?

Well followers hardly interact with the content of the people they are following these days. Just like I said the rate on engagement is reducing due to automation

I agree with you sir, it's very hard for minnows to grow on steemit these days because getting upvotes now is a matter of "connection" I know of someone here on steemit that is a curator and is giving his Girlfriend 'special treatment' when it comes to upvotes and it isn't supposed to be so. Another thing is that whales doesn't really give much attention to minnows these days so finding good articles and Talents has been difficult. Many minnows have quit steemit due to lack of support and frustration. It isn't easy though but We should be a family here and everyone should be treated equally.
