Ep 1: Finding hidden gems in Snowden Files: #DecipherYou
Today, it begins! Presenting to you, wonderful Steemians, the secrets I've uncovered in the Snowden files, for your viewing and reading pleasure. I'm preparing annotated episodes of my web series Decipher You - which analyses raw Snowden SIDToday documents - and aim to post one episode per day. Here we go!
Hey all!
A budding OSINT research community has been forming around myself and my friend Elizabeth Lea Vos, Editor in Chief of Disobedient Media, as we've embarked upon an amazing journey to analyse all of the publicly available Snowden files. The files are periodically released in bulk by The Intercept.
I had previously independently analysed Batch One and Batch Two and reported on them in print at a purpose-built blog, DecipherYou.com
But when I began to analyse Batch Three, on a whim I decided to jump on stream on my personal You Tube channel, so that I could hang out with friends and show them what I was doing. Because I had never intended this to be in wide public circulation, the sound is pretty patchy in places, and on this first occasion I had a face full of moisturiser instead of a face full of makeup!! Oh well, c'est la vie! But as I continued to do the streams, I kept finding more and more astounding pieces of information buried in the documents, and soon realised that I had accidentally engineered something really unique - crowd-sourced live analysis of documents that many people are curious about, but few had had the opportunity to study, or the necessary expertise to decipher.
As the episodes continued, the group of people hanging out in chat and studying the docs with me continued to grow, and by the time I got to episode four, Elizabeth had joined me as co-host and Decipher You became a thing!
We now continue this series twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday at 5pm PST / 8pm EST and are up to episode 23.
So to catch up my Steemit followers on all the incredible findings we've made, I thought I'd repost each episode on dTube and timestamp it so you can find out easily where the good bits are, and easily check out the source documents so you can double check our work for yourselves.
I really hope you enjoy. The series starts off super informal - literally in bed with me at 5am one night - but slowly gets a little bit more slick as time goes on and we start to work out a bit more of a format for it. That said, it's still really raw (or as some have said of us - the real deal!!!). Who knows where it will go in the future as we continue to pursue our mission to mine the gems hidden in plain sight!!!

The USA puts us all in danger and everyone is cleaning up FOR the USA.
But the USA is to foul to wipe it's own behind after making all this shit.
Trump Included. He is only cleaning a tiny corner of his own kitchen but leaving the rest of the world covered in corporate american shit.
VW gets huge penalties for polluting cars, but the entire world keeps buying gas gulping american cars. Because they look cool? Or why is that? Why doesn't the rest of the world ban American cars? Elon Musk's cars included. How much environment is damaged to source minerals for
his batteries? But Australia buys an entire powerpack. Powered by the same old powerstation...
This is also part of the same bullshit, all this funnels money back to the USA that they then again use AGAINST US.
We first must stop feeding the bull, to stop the bullshit.
Only then we are able to clean up the bullshit.
Lets build our own crap again, and stop buying anything that's Made in the USA until the bullshit is gone. Once they show good behaviour then i guess it's ok to give them another chance, but right now we should close the door and say enough is enough.
I have friends in the USA, and it feels bad that i'm putting it like this. It's not their fault, it's their government and the corporations.
So in the end it's up to the americam people to also say enough is enough and fix their government and industry.
USA acts like a spoiled kid wanting to have all the toys and to greedy to share anything. The rest of the world is bigger then the USA. Keep in mind that the USA is actually far smaller then how it looks on the world map.
Thank you Edward Snowden for saving the world. And I hope you also can save the USA from itself. This train is still going full steam into end station USA. Trump seems to be working hard to slow it down. But 'the other ones' are still adding coal to the fire. Clinton is going kamikaze, if she can't win, she just takes everyone down with her.
The only way out seems to be an escape to Saudi Arabia, but I don't see how the Clinton Family would live in a Muslim land.
What a mess.
Still I think this will get solved somehow. Many smart hackers are making tiny fixes and there are more hackers then politicians. And that should be enough to do the trick.
Agreed and you're right, there's a huge difference between the American people and their corrupt government, same as virtually every other government in the world.
Over 100 countries are in America's network of spy-agency influence, only a dozen or so countries stand in the way of global domination, but it looks like the Empire is finally getting too big for its boots and its footprint is ever harder to sustain so hello Rome 2.0
One positive is that it's a fact that dinosaurs have died out. And they most likely have turned into maggots. They can only sustain their dominance for a limited amount of time.
And it seems that the world now starts to realise that we no longer can feed the dinosaurs if we want to survive.
