Pomegranate smoothie- For reducing inflammatory activity

Good morning! It's important to start your morning with a delicious smoothie. 

The edible seeds from a pomegrante are called arils.

Pomegranates contains punicalagins, extremely powerful antioxidants found in the juice and peel of a pomegranate. The seeds also contain vitamin C, K, Folate, Potassium.

For this recipe I used the seeds from one pomegranate, one banana, the juice from one orange, two teaspoons of sesame seeds and flax seeds.

I added the pomegranate seeds, the banana, the orange juice and the grounded seeds and blended for about a minute. You can add a teaspoon of honey if you want it to be a little sweet.

Woke up with a scratchy throat today. Went out to the sun to the local juicery to get a nice mix of green apple and pomegranate juice. Delicious!

I'm a HUGE fan of smoothies, and berry smoothies in particular. I love to combine strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, cranberries and pomegranate juice. SO delicious! Gave you a Resteem.

I love pomegranate in smoothies. Green smoothies have been my go-to breakfast for over 5 years now! Steen on!

Here in Mallorca we have many pomegranate trees :)

Helpful tip to get the pomegranate seeds out, do it in a bowl of water. the seeds will sink to the bottom, and the white membrane holding them together, and to the sides of the rind, will float. You can skim away a lot of the membrane and rind this way. Then strain the seeds through a mesh sieve and you've got most of your seeds pulp/skin free!
