A view from the Derby, CT Greenway..
Looking northwest up the Housatonic River from the Derby side, as the tide pulls the water at a brisk rate even 8 miles from the Long Island Sound. The bluefish and stripers make it up this way.
The railroad bridge is retired so serves as part of the bike/hike greenway route that follows the banks of the Housatonic River through Derby and up the banks of the Naugatuck River northward. Derby sits at the confluence of these two great Connecticut rivers and is noted for being the smallest city and least populated city in the State.
