This has absolutely nothing to do with Bitconnect. There you have lended Bitcoin away to get high returns. That was clearly a Ponzi scheme and 95% of all people said that long time before they collapsed.

Smartcash is just reallocating the mining payouts to all coin holders. It is not even inflation which is the case on Steem. No need to worry about that.
