Braided jeans bag. Handmade. Step by Step

in #slothicorn6 years ago

Hello my dear community, it is common to have at home a jeans that we no longer use, today I will teach them how to use it by making a beautiful braided bag, ideal accessory for girls and teenagers, I hope they can do it and be very useful.

Materials

• Jeans fabric
• Fabric for lining
• Needle
• Thread
• Closing
• Felt
• Ruler.
• Pencil.
• Ornaments, (peppers).
• Bag handle.

Step 1:

The first thing we will do is to draw on the jeans fabric lines to make the strips that we will need 25 cm wide by 5 cm high.

Step 2:

We cut the strips and fold them at the right and left ends that are right in the center of the back and iron.

Step 3:

We group eight strips, we place them vertically, we sew the upper edge and begin to interlace the strips horizontally, as shown in the image.

Step 4:

Once we finish interlacing the strips we will reinforce, sewing on the back with small stitches without passing the stitching to the front.

Step 5:

We cut a part of the jeans with measures 20 cm wide and 25 cm high approximately for the back of our bag.

Step 6:

We proceed to sew the braided part with the fabric cut that will go on the back of the bag.

Step 7:

For the lining of the internal part we mark and cut the fabric with the measurements 18 cm wide and 20 cm high.

Step 8:

We sew the right and left ends to obtain a bag.

Step 9:

We place the lining bag on the back and fold approximately 2 cm at the top end.

Step 10:

We introduce the bag in the jeans part, which we will then seal when sewing the closure.

Step 11:

We sew the closure.

Step 12:

To make the flowers with which we decorate first we are going to cut out the felt with the measures 8 cm long by 5 cm high.

Step 13:

We fold in the center horizontally, we are going to sew the lower part and make cuts of approximately half a centimeter in the upper part.

Step 14:

We pull the thread of the seam and in this way we obtain the shape of our flower.

Step 15:

We draw in felt and cut a circle to sew in the center.

Here I show you the rest of the flowers.

The flowers are stitched, the seeds, we put the handle and ready.

Here the final result.

I hope you like it.

That's a lovely bag, @odalysrivero! It looks very neat and practical :D

Wonderful tutorial! We used to make all sorts of things from worn jeans in the 70s. (There was a lot of denim in those bell bottoms!)

What a gorgeous bag!! I absolutely Love the weaving affect!! The embellishments you made give it that added touch of beauty! Thanks so much for this step by step tutorial!! It’s such another great Upcycle venture!!!
