Each successive round of dynamic market fluctuation provides opportunities for well-timed purchases and HODLing. Trading in cryptocurrency has been a remarkable reminder of who I am, what I believe, and why I believe it. Each day I seek out mirrors around me that might provide insight into myself, and therefore, the universe. I have come to recognize that everyone has an essence of my self in them that I can learn from. Trading crypto has led me to question my own motivations, timing, emotions, relationships, and it has brought me to the understanding that I will be just fine, no matter the worst case scenarios I may have recently explored.
I created the image below as a study of the contrast between light and dark; the subtle nature of our universe, and how the difference between something being fantastic or terrible is often just a subtlety of perception and/or perspective.

What does it mean to HODL? It means to, "Hold On For Dear Life". Where did the term originate? I'm not 100% certain, but believe it traces it back to a Reddit post from about 3 years ago. That post links to a Bitcoin Forum post in which GameKyuubi is complaining that his girlfriend is at a lesbian bar as bitcoin is crashing and he is holding on to his investments because he is a "bad trader".

He went on to say, "I SHOULD HAVE SOLD MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY SELL AND BOUGHT MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY BUY BUT YOU KNOW WHAT NOT EVERYBODY IS AS COOL AS YOU."Intriguingly, many of us have discovered that HODLing can often result in greater profitability than trading once all the movements, fees, and taxes are calculated.
Trading and HODLing both take a special type of resolve. Cryptocurrency's volatility allows us to experience the fullness of life, from the deepest shadows to the colorful spectrum available to us only in our dreams.

Nice post, HODL has worked pretty well for me. Bit of a rollercoaster lately with crypto , it's certainly exciting.
I only fully hopped out twice. Both times were preceded by a sense of "I'm gonna be rich!".
A wise person told me a few years back, that if I get that feeling, I should immediately sell because it won't be long before it corrects. He was right and my belly served me both times. After reviewing my trades, other than the two times I jumped ship, it appears HODLing has served me best so far.
I forgot to leave my bitcoin wallet QR. Feel free to contribute liberally so that I might provide more creative commons material. :D
