Elaboration process
In general, I do not usually record the processes too much. I focused on living the experience, the moment. The drawing, unlike the painting, implies a greater concern for the accuracy of the technique, the proportion and the line as the predominant element.
I like to start the drawing directly with white colors, or "skin" (do not press too much the crayons on the paper) on a dark support, in this way you avoid destroying the figure with graphite (it dirtifies the paper), it also prevents us from erasing, We are more careful with the technique and the resolution of the inconveniences are presented.
- The study of the face begins by making a sphere and dividing it into two parts (the inclination of this main line will be determined by the reference image).
The vertical line will be divided into 5 equal parts and a little more, as seen in the first images, everything will depend on constantly comparing with the reference image, the location of the parts of the face. This first drawing is in perspective, so it does not meet the constant of dividing into 4 equal parts (front portrait)
When determining the location and size of the nose, in comparison with the divisions already marked, the location of the eyes will be drawn, its size corresponds approximately to the size of the nose.
The colors to be implemented for the skin tone are indicated in the previous image, it is avoided to use black because it stains the drawing.
Colors:
- Purple, or violet
- Dark brown and clear (cinnamon)
- "Skin color"
- Light pink
- Light Blue
- White
The dark support emphasizes the use of colors, the medium grain retains the color and avoids pressing the paper too much, you must first mark the white lights leave some spaces for it. For the shadows a transition is used, from the darkest shadow; Violet, the clearest; brown, it is also advisable to leave blue shades to cool the skin (in the case of white skins), lowering the tone of the brown color, which inclines more towards the oranges and can produce too much warmth in the drawing.
