RE: Update on Simplicity: Cutting Complexity with Steem 0.17.0
there are game theoretic challenges that haven’t been fully modeled.
I live and breathe game theoretic challenges. What concerns you? How can I help?
There are a number of angles. The incentive to consolidate SP into your identity account versus spreading it across n equal-powered accounts, in theory, makes it easier to audit because fewer total number of votes need to be reviewed. We want to run a simulation based on voting behavior on the site using historical data to see what the payout delta would have been on various posts over the last few months, things like that.
Want to mock some stuff up? Hit me up at [email protected].
I think @clayop has done some of that work already: https://steemit.com/steem/@clayop/making-steemit-better-a-proposal-to-flatten-the-rewards-curve
From what I can tell, the plots down at the bottom of that post were simulated with real data on various reward curves. Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?
no answer to this one yet, huh
Yeah, for whatever reason, they've never seemed that interested in my help on game theory stuff.
We've been pretty busy the last 24h, as you can imagine. :)
