The problem is that the oil price dropped a ton and that is where most of their gpd comes from.
Well maybe if their governement didn't outlaw cryptocurrencies, or perhaps let people actually produce on the vast agticultural lands they posess, people wouldnt be starving to deatg, which in turn, wouldn't have everyone so irate right now. Just because oil dropped doesn't mean that was their only means of producing for themselves. Their socialist policies have literally frozen them out of everything thay could have helped the citizenry.
I have read nowhere about it outlawing bitcoin.
They have horrible natural resources and oil is basically it.
Also they are still not socialist, socialism is where the workers collectively control the means of production.
Maybe not "outlawed" via a set law, but they sure are arresting miners and people using the currency by persecuting them as"outlaws" with arrest and forfeiture:

So, you see, It's not as easy as jumping on an exchange and purchasing whatever Crypto you'd like, just to get a leg up on everyone else and get yourself out of the country. Read up on the stories of people who have actually escaped the country by using Bitcoin...it was all done in secret and with the help of OTHER people from OTHER countries.
so you mean they are trying not to pay taxes while the government is in major debt? Remember constant electricity can be a struggle, especially when people waste hundreds of kilowatts for profit. That's literally taking it from the rest of their society.

What are you TALKING about? What part of "it's illegal to mine in Venezeula do u not get"? There are rolling blackouts non-stop. Miners, users and the like are being arrested in raids non-stop. And how would the miners help ANYONE by stopping their operations? It's called survival. Do you HONESTLY believe that if people stopped using whatever electricity they're using to provide for themselves is ACTUALLY going to be properly allocated to the starving masses? I think FOOD AND MEDICINE is more of a top priorty right now more than anything.

So, we should not be able to mine bitcoin or anyother coin in Venezuela? We are not able to buy any other currency? we have exchange control, so it is really illigal to buy any currency (cryptos, fiat, etc). If you like you could read one of my posts where I mention how exchange control is one of the main sources of corruption here in Venezuela if you are interested. As I mention earlier, It is clear you are a socialist, but please do not make the mistake of believing in anyone who says they are socialists.

We have one of the biggest reserves in gold, aluminium, uranium, we even just discovered lots of thorium for nuclear energy. Natural resourses is not the issue. Is what is being done with them
No no no, I live in Venezuela, is not that the oil price droped, price at 1998 of oil was at 10$. Population was about about 24 Million. Prices now are arond 40$ and population has only gone up to 32million. The production of oil have droped to levels we were having on 1988, due to lack of maintenance. I really respect if you believe in socialism, though I dont. But trust me, I live here and oil prices droping is not the reason of our crisis. Is corruption, money printing, price and exchange controls, expropriations . You posted those 2 links, I could post you 100+ links that say the opposite. Anyway, even if you are socialist, you do not have to defend anyone just because they say they are socialists. Just as I cant defend anyone just because they say they are capitalists.
