How many shoes is too many?

When I said I felt that five or more pairs of active shoes were excessive for dudes, my partner thought I was nuts.

Like... There's the shoes you wear every day, dress shoes, maybe a pair of boots, but... Five?

I don't feel like I know many dudes who own 5+. I could be an outlier or something, who doesn't know that other dudes actually own a lot of shoes, but it seems alien that most guys would own more than that. Like, yeah... there's shoe guys who own a shitload like seven or eight or maybe even more that throw those numbers off, but most men?
