shadow photo contest round 59 architectural-shadows
This is my Entry for the Show Photo contest hosted by @melinda010100, When I saw the theme this week I had to get some shots and enter the contest, but I have to admit with the snow on Monday and the below-freezing temperatures I did not walk as far as I originally hoped to, to get shots for this contest.

This is the photo I am entering for the contest, although it is not my favorite of the shots, it is the one that closest fits the theme I think, as the shadows and light are from the structure of the building over the footpath.

Now this was the favorite photo I got on the walk, but it is debatable if the shadows of the Firehydrant and poles count as Architectural shadows

This was the first shadow I noticed which reminded me I had to look for some architectural shadows, but again I do not think a pedestrian crossing light pole counts aas architectural.

And the last shot I got before my fingers were freezing and I needed to put the camera away and head into the building for my first meeting of the day, not the shadow is on part of a building which is architecture, but again the shadow itself is off traffic lights and not falling into this weeks theme.
Melinda, I will do better with meeting the theme next time I enter your contest :)

It might not be architectural, but the shadow on that pole is just about perfectly parallel to the road. If you don't win the contest you should at least get bonus geometry points!
Thanks so kind of your o say I love that image and now am motivated to be more watchful for cool shadow shots
I think you did great. I am always aware of shadows, and intrigued by how close they are to the 'original'.
I like your favorite, too. I think those bolsters qualify as architectural elements. They certainly do for me.
Great photos, as per normal!
Bolsters thats the name I just could not remember when I was doing here, a common site all over the city for many buildings they may be considered potential target sot sot vehicles driving into them
Thanks also for your kind words, I relived when I went for these shots I often observe shadows with interest but was not often taking photos of them
At least it was a sunny day @tattoodjay! I don't envy your cold although we woke up to chilly weather here this morning. We don't use the heat very often so when the morning is cold its tough to get out of bed, lol Beautiful shots I would say, stay warm friend!
Thanks this should be the worse day for a week or so, it looks like a warming trend for the next week up to the 40s and maybe even 50, Funny how ebefore winter started 50 seemed cold, now it will be so welcomed LOL
Hi @tattoodjay the photos are very good, I haven't participated in the contest for a long time😊

I love using shadows in my work sometimes. This reminds me I think I I'm going to add one/some to my latest Singularity. They always add that element of mystery I love.
These use of shadows are really good. There is just something about shadows and our early beliefs and souls and legend and lore all wrapped up in our DNA somewhere.
Looking forward to see the added shadows inthat piece, and yes there is something about shadows isnt there
These are rather nice photos! Strong and warm sunshine for a change!

Well the sun was shining but it wasnt warm LOL
Wonderful shadow photos! It appears that your Shadow hunt was a success! On your next walk you may want to keep an eye out for vehicle shadows!
Thanks I am not sure they all meet this weeks challenge, but I will keep an eye out for vehicle shadows :)
The one you entered is certainly and Architectural shadow! We will have Lamppost Shadows coming up again at some point. You might want to save one of those street light photos for that week. 🚦
I got some cool photos one night of lights on a bridge to illuminate the walkway which would be the exact opposite of this challenge.
Great pictures and I know what you mean about the freezing weather as its been super chilly here as well. Getting warmer weather this weekend?
