| This fabulous castle, in fact, has a very business and prosaic purpose. It was built as the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the State Bank. In 1911, the Council of the Bank announced a competition among architects. The competition was won the project by V.A. Pokrovsky, he received the first prize and the right to guide the construction. In 1913 a building in neo-Russian style was built. The opening was timed to the Romanov Tercentenary.
