Steem Fantasy Premier League Preview & Match Prediction - Gameweek 2

in #sfpl7 years ago (edited)

We are entering the second matchweek of Premier League, and we already have a London Derby. Delicious! Chelsea can within the first two weeks already have a gap of 6 points to Tottenham, Arsenal, United and City if they win their respective matches. What will happen? We surely don't know, and last weeks matchweek was a proof of that.

Liverpool - Crystal Palace

After disappointing opening game for both teams, Liverpool is most likely to bounce back when Crystal Palace is going to Anfield. Salah, Mane and Firmino all did their job by scoring a goal each, and I think he will see them scoring a few goals again. Not only is the Liverpool offense looking lethal, but Crystal Palace is in a period of transformation. Frank de Boer has been appointed as their manager, and the way he wants his team to play is so far away from what Crystal Palace has ever done. Crystal Palace will need at least 6-8 games before they get used to their new style, and Liverpool will take advantage of that. I see an easy Liverpool win here. I have brought in Alexander-Arnold (4,5m £) and Salah (9.1m£). Alexander-Arnold recently scored on a freekick against Hoffenheim. 4,5m £ for a defender who occasionally takes set pieces is too good for me. Are you planning to have any Liverpool players on your team for this round?

Leicester - Brighton

Brighton still looked like a Championship team against Manchester City. It wouldn't be fair to judge them from only that game, but they did look terrible. I expect Brighton to be sent back into Championship immediately, and Leicester will make my prediction become more likely to happen. I can't see how Brighton can withstand the power of Mahrez, Vardy and Okazaki. Vardy looked really lethal against Arsenal and I predict he will continue. Vardy is priced at 8.6m£ which seems like a decent price for a topstriker playing home against a newly promoted team. If you can't afford that you might want to look at Okazaki (6.0m£) who also contributed with a goal in the thrilling 4-3 match last weekend.

Tottenham - Chelsea

If you look at last weekends performance and base your prediction solely on that, it will look like a win for Tottenham. Chelsea without Fabregas and Cahill, and a defeat in the bag. Tottenham are welcoming Chelsea with a victory and a cleansheet. But wait a minute. Tottenham is playing at Wembley when they are playing "home" this season. Wembley is the second biggest pitch in England, while White Hart Lane is the second smallest pitch. This makes a huge difference. To put in numbers, Wembley is 7,245 square meters while White Hart Lane is 6,700. A difference of 545 square meters. To make it even worse for Tottenham, they have only won twice in 10 matches played at Wembley since it opened. Therefore Fantasy wise I find this match very dangerous as we don't know how Tottenham will play at Wembley, and we surely don't know how Chelsea will play after last disaster against Burnley. Who do you think will win?

The Rest

I was thinking about doing a preview on Manchester City, but I really don't know how they will line-up. It looks like a win for City, but who will score the goals, I don't know. Walker, De Bruyne, Kompany, Stones, Agüero and Otamendi looks like the only players who I am quite sure will start against Everton.

I want to shine some light on Huddersfield as they performed even better than I had expected. Steve Mounie (6.0m£) scored two goals, and I can't see why he couldn't do the same again. This time they are playing home against Newcastle who is without Shelvey.

Manchester United looked extremely promising against West Ham and I expect them to continue but not in the style they did last weekend. I could spend time on telling you why you should have Lukaku, but we all know why. Therefore I will mention Rashford (7.5m£). Rashford played well, looked dangerous, and if given the chance once again, I think he could do some harm against Swansea.

Arsenal have won 4/5 matches against Stoke with one drawing, and I expect them to win once again. Arsenal have Koscielny and Mustafi back, so we might see a more stable defence. Xhaka at 5.6m£ and Ramsey at 7.0m£ look like decent buys. Ramsey has a lot more freedom in the new formation and hopefully we will see the "old" ramsey again.

Match Prediction

The Matchweek game is simple. For all the matches you will have to predict the outcome.
For example:

Arsenal - Leicester

1- Arsenal will win
X - Draw
2 - Leicester will win.

The best three will win. The rewards will be paid in SBD. 50% of the SBD will go towards the winners and the remaining 50% will be added to the SFPL prize pool.

Just to be clear, everyone can enter in the Prediction Game, not just the participants in the SFP League.

Simply copy/paste the fixtures and add your predictions in the comment section. I will copy all entries into one comment 10 minutes before the game starts to prevent ninja edits, remember though that every change is saved onto the blockchain.
