Sexuality and Self-Acceptance: The Final Frontier, and the Last Golden Cow to be Destroyed (INTRO)
Sexuality is rhythm. Rhythm is creation. Creation is life.
It is coming into my field of imaginative vision lately, that sexuality is part and parcel of literally everything.
As humans, without accepting ourselves sexually at a very fundamental level, no other true acceptance can really be said to be had.
Many of us have grown up shamed for our sexuality and our very human bodies themselves. This is intriguing because without all the "dirty," "shameful," and "vile" feelings of lust and sexuality, not a single one of us would be here.
Cultural programming has done a number on us.
I do not presume to speak for everyone, but I will speak for myself when I say that, for me, accepting my own sexuality and embracing it for what it is has become the final frontier in my awakening on this, my journey of self-acceptance.
I realized this last night when I thought what a blasphemy it would be to imagine sex without shame.
To give the reader a basic idea of what this is about, I would like to quote Ayn Rand from Atlas Shrugged and also share an impromptu video I made last night. Before that, though, this is a rough outline of how I see the series progressing (as always, this is subject to change as time and thoughts progress).
I. Intro
II. Cultural programming (sex as shame)
III. Masturbation and auto-erotic behavior
IV. Sexuality as intimacy with a partner
V. Sexuality as nature (i.e. as the "enemy of the state")
VI. Distorted views on sexuality as the final barrier to self-acceptance
VII. Summary
I quote now from Atlas Shrugged:
Observe the ugly mess which most men make of their sex lives--and observe the mess of contradictions which they hold as their moral philosophy. One proceeds from the other. Love is our response to our highest values--and can be nothing else. Let a man corrupt his values and his view of existence, let him profess that love is not self-enjoyment, but self-denial...and he will have cut himself in two...Then he will scream that his body has vicious desires of its own which his mind cannot conquer, that sex is sin, that true love is a pure emotion of the spirit. And then he will wonder why love brings him nothing but boredom, and sex--nothing but shame.
